Today I'm sharing an essential oil roller which I believe will help with depression, stress and anxiety. It's certainly helped me to get through the last couple of weeks which have been pretty awful with my lovely Dad passing away.Over the last year or so, I've been enjoying learning a little bit about essential oils and the effects that they can have on your moods. I've learned that they can be energising (peppermint oil), relaxing and calming (lavender), uplifting (bergamot) as well as stress relieving (frankincense) and my homemade sleep spray using essential oils was such a … [Read more...]
16 Vintage Crochet Patterns…
OK, I'll start this post by holding my hands up and telling you that I cannot crochet to save my life! However, when another blogger offered to share some of her free vintage crochet patterns with you, I thought it was something that might interest a few of you. You might have noticed that over the last month or so, Saturdays have more often than not been round-up posts of some other great content from around the internet. There's a couple of reasons for this which I'll explain now before I get into today's vintage crochet pattern round up. ;-)Firstly, I have lots of ideas for things … [Read more...]
Dear Dad….
As you read this, I'll be at my Dad's funeral saying goodbye to the man who's been there for me since the day I was born. It feels like a good day to share this letter that I wrote to him the day after he died.I wasn't planning on sharing it as it was simply a post that I wrote to make myself feel better by getting it all out but as I thought about writing a post to share with you today, it just felt right to share this with you.Dear Dad,I can't believe you're really gone, that I really held your hand last night as you took your last breath last night. It doesn't feel real … [Read more...]
The Ultimate Stain Removal Guide….
When they were younger, my children would always be the messiest kids in the street. Not because I didn't take pride in the way they looked or that I didn't pay attention to their hygiene habits but because I really feel that letting children get messy encourages everything from creativity to confidence. The problem with mess though, is that it comes hand in hand with stains and no matter how much I wanted to encourage the kids to explore and create, I didn't want them to be ruining clothes on a regular basis. Rather than stop them from doing what kids do best, I just became a master … [Read more...]
Would you pay to pre-book a sun lounger on holiday?
I save all year round for the holidays that we have throughout the year so I want them to be perfect when we get there! Even so, I'm not sure I agree with the latest holiday 'extra' that you can now buy with some holidays!Over the last few years, tour operators and airlines have started to add sneaky little extras on to the cost of a holiday. It started with the option to pre-book seats together which on the face of it seems like an OK added extra but then some tour operators started to charge for meals on the flights as well as transfers between the airport and your hotel.Next … [Read more...]
That was…. March!
How is it the last day of March already? At the end of last year, I decided that it would be a nice idea to do a post once a month giving you a bit of an update on our lives. I was looking forward to this month as we had so much planned but unfortunately it didn't really go according to plan.I'll get the nice news out of the way first....We started the month under attack from the #BeastfromtheEast which meant that the kids had four days off school and I had three days of working from home. Obviously, this was the best thing ever as far as they were concerned - or at least it … [Read more...]
