I'm not going to lie, Fathers Day has been the furthest thing from my mind this week and in typical me fashion, I now have one day to sort a present. I also have two uncooperative children who have other plans for today meaning that a homemade gift is out of the question unless I make it myself and that's kind of not the point is it?So, while they're both out and about today I've asked them to get their Dad something they know he'll like to present to him tomorrow. This could turn out disastrously wrong or it could be quite sweet but I'll let you know either way.We don't really go … [Read more...]
The simple way to set up canned responses in Outlook….
How to set up canned responses in OutlookAs a blogger I get a lot of emails every day and whilst I know that's a good thing and not something to complain about I must admit that I find it hard sometimes to keep on top of my inbox as reply to everyone who needs a reply.I'm an Outlook fan and have used it for years but when I had seemingly un-fixable issues with my emails no longer syncing to Outlook on my laptop, I joined the dark side and moved over to Gmail.I'll be honest, I'm really not a fan of Gmail though and I struggled to get to grips with using it - it's not that it's … [Read more...]
Our Sunday Afternoon Tradition….
We've got into a bit of a habit lately of going for a walk on a Sunday afternoon after our tea.We try to go somewhere different each week and usually head wherever we're going in the car rather than just walk him close to home like we do that every other night. Tonight, we had a lovely walk around the Riverside Football Stadium and along the banks of the River Tees.We had a lovely walk around the stadium and as always, the kids took the football and had a good kick about in the area around the stadium which is always deserted when we visit on a Sunday evening! After … [Read more...]

Interesting things my children have said to me in the last week….
The kids have come out with some corkers this last week and at times they've had me in stitches with some of the things they've said! I thought I'd share some of the tamer ones with you to see if I could make you smile too.... If you check my internet search history today then don't worry if you see an odd one. You weren't here and I needed to know something! Oh dear! I'm not going to tell you what it was she was searching for but I'll be honest, I'd have had to search if she'd have asked me. ;-) I wonder which of those men is the rhubarb Mam? Said by one of my lovely little people when … [Read more...]
What if you’re OK with letting fear stop you from doing things?
I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm scared about what's going on in the world right now, it genuinely feels to me like nowhere's safe and as a parent, that's an awful feeling.I've watched the news of the attacks across the world and even the first attack in London to a certain degree with feelings of shock, horror and devastation for the people who have been caught up in them but also with the feeling that my little corner of the world was still safe. And then the Manchester attack happened and I felt the same shock, horror and devastation but the fact that it was so much closer to home … [Read more...]
