Our next holiday is coming up at the end of July and this time we're off to the Isle of Wight which is somewhere that we've never been before. Like all of our trips away this year, it's nothing flash but we are excited and we can't wait to go.We booked it last year and paid a super low deposit of just £25 which was great for us at the time as it was right before Christmas and we've been paying a little bit off each month since then. Now it's paid off in full we're starting to think about our spending money so I thought I'd resurrect and update a post that I first shared in 2012.It's … [Read more...]
Parents of Snapchat Users NEED to read this….
I'm pretty sure I've told you all before (probably many times) that Miss Frugal is a Snapchat fan. She uses the app to keep in touch with her friends and there's nothing she likes more than a good Snapchat filter.Usually I don't have an issue with her using the app - she knows how I expect her to behave when she's using social media and the rules she need follow such as only adding people she knows and never sharing personal details about herself like her address. That last one is a biggie! We've drilled into her repeatedly that she should never share her address online with people … [Read more...]
Easyjet Vs British Airways….
I'm all for saving money when we travel but I must admit that I was very reluctant to book a trip with Easyjet because I've heard such bad reports about them in the past. In the end we booked through them for our trip to Milan because the price was literally unbeatable.I was very pleasantly surprised with our Easyjet experience and having traveled with British Airways recently, I thought I'd share my experience with you so you can decide whether to book your flights with Easyjet who are known as a 'budget' airline or their more premium competitors, British Airways. Cost First of all, … [Read more...]
#FamilyMadeSimple….
When I was growing up, I dreamed about a big white wedding to the man of my dreams and then settling down to family life with two children (a boy and a girl obviously) and a dog. We'd have weekly visits from the grandparents and huge family gatherings where everyone would gather round and enjoy each others company. And seeing as I'm sharing my childhood dreams with you I might as well tell you that the skies were always blue and the birds were always singing - I'm pretty sure there was a rainbow around most of the time too. ;-)Life didn't turn out that way though.I got the husband, … [Read more...]
10 Last Minute Fathers Day gifts for under £10….
I'm not going to lie, Fathers Day has been the furthest thing from my mind this week and in typical me fashion, I now have one day to sort a present. I also have two uncooperative children who have other plans for today meaning that a homemade gift is out of the question unless I make it myself and that's kind of not the point is it?So, while they're both out and about today I've asked them to get their Dad something they know he'll like to present to him tomorrow. This could turn out disastrously wrong or it could be quite sweet but I'll let you know either way.We don't really go … [Read more...]
The simple way to set up canned responses in Outlook….
How to set up canned responses in OutlookAs a blogger I get a lot of emails every day and whilst I know that's a good thing and not something to complain about I must admit that I find it hard sometimes to keep on top of my inbox as reply to everyone who needs a reply.I'm an Outlook fan and have used it for years but when I had seemingly un-fixable issues with my emails no longer syncing to Outlook on my laptop, I joined the dark side and moved over to Gmail.I'll be honest, I'm really not a fan of Gmail though and I struggled to get to grips with using it - it's not that it's … [Read more...]
