There’s not many of us who haven’t wished for more hours in the day at one point or another but today I want to share a few simple ways to manage your time better so you won’t need any extra time to get everything done…..Create a to do list! Honestly this is the best thing you can do if you’re looking to improve your time management skills. I have a lovely A5 leather bound notebook that I treated myself to when I was planning to start bullet journaling but it actually just morphed into a to do list book. I probably write a to do list most days in some form as I always start my working … [Read more...]
Dear Tesco….
To the very lovely people at our local branch of Tesco,I want to thank you for the kindness and compassion that you have showed my Dad over the last six months or so because you really have made a huge difference in his life and I want you to know about it.At the age of 77, my Dad's found himself alone (apart from me) in a world filled with technology that he really just can't get his head around. He's grumpy, stubborn, and thinks he always knows best but he's my Dad and I love him more than I could tell you. He's also getting to the age where things confuse him very easily so when … [Read more...]

Today I'm sharing a list of 100, yes 100 frugal and fun Summer Activities with you which should be more than enough to see you through the Summer! We're a couple of weeks into the Summer Holidays now and if your kids are anything like my two used to be then you'll more than likely running out of ideas to keep them occupied.A couple of years ago, I made a list of 100 ideas that would guarantee that you (and me) wouldn't run out of ideas for the whole of the school holidays. As well as this handy little list, which my friend has printed out and stuck on her fridge like … [Read more...]
The moment you realise they no longer need you!
There's been a few changes in our house over the last few weeks and I'm sat here in the back garden typing this reflecting on the changes with mixed feelings. The first change is that I've changed my hours at work and in the near future I'm planning to go from part time back to full time. Reducing my hours at work was the reason we realised we needed to be more frugal so we could save money and afford for me to work less hours so I could spend more time with the kids. We've been so lucky with my hours of work because I've been able to work between 8am until 2.30pm weekdays with just the … [Read more...]
Calming essential oils sleep spray….
I've mentioned my homemade essential oils sleep spray a few times now and today, I'm finally getting around to sharing it with you so you can make your own if you want to have a go.It's a calming blend of lavender and cedarwood essential oils an it's so cheap to make as I bought my essential oils from the chemist near us for a couple of pounds each and it feels like I've hardly used any out of them yet despite me making this sleep spray a good few times now.I first started making it when I went back to work in January as I was having trouble switching off on a night which meant that … [Read more...]
A week’s worth of Slimming World friendly packed lunches….
We're off on holiday in a couple of weeks so I'm focusing on two things - saving money and losing weight! To help me with both of these, I've been taking Slimming World friendly packed lunches to work and because I'm so please with myself for avoiding soggy sandwiches all week I thought I'd share my week's worth of Slimming World friendly packed lunches. Day 1 - Lime and Chilli cous cous with spinach, chicken and sun dried tomatoes (2 syns for the sun dried tomatoes)I don't measure when I make cous cous, I just add how much I want to a bowl, add the flavour and pour enough boiling … [Read more...]
