A lot of you know that I have a bit of a cook book obsession, even though I rarely use my cook books for anything other than looking at the pretty pictures ;-) I still have the first cook book, I was ever given (well a copy of the same one anyway) and I love it as much now as I did when my Nana gave me her copy when I was ten years old....Be-ro cookbooks have been around since 1923 when the first edition, consisiting if 19 pages was first introduced and to date they've sold over 38million copies and they're up to the 40th edition which is the one I currently have. Lose Weight the Frugal Way….
Along with half of the nation, I started my New Years diet last Monday and I've just nervously stepped on to our bathroom scales to find out that I've lost 5lbs so I'm really pleased with myself ;-) I even made myself a little tracker thingy to track my progress, although rather than set a target weight, I've decided to work towards smaller mini goals, the first of which is to lose a stone.I'm following Slimming World and I'm finding it really easy so far although I'm sure it'll get harder though once the novelty wears off so for now I'm making the most of it. One thing I did find that I was quite pleased with was a small amount of pudding rice so I thought that I would cook the kids some homemade rice pudding for after … [Read more...]

What do you think? … [Read more...]

I think I may have just secured the Mother of the Year Award, for Miss Frugal's Christmas party at school tomorrow I've made chocolate fairy cakes with Nutella icing. They looked very Domestic Goddess-like until I let her loose with the sprinkles!Because I'm a lovely person, I'm even going to share the recipe with you so you can impress your kids too....Nutella Frosting 250g icing sugar 80g butter / margarine 75ml milk 90g Nutella (slighly melted - 30 seconds in the microwave does the trick)Because I'm lazy, I used an electric whisk to mix the butter and the icing sugar into a … [Read more...]
Easy Homemade Shortbread Recipe….
