We all know that you don't have to spend money to have fun but sometimes we need a quick reminder of the fun things we can do for free so here's the first of my Summer Holiday reminders of what you can do that won't cost you a penny....Go on a nature hunt - print out one of the Summer checklists from the Nature Detective website and go for a walk together. There's all sorts of checklists ranging from bugs to plants or even a simple colours one for younger children and you'll have a great time finding everything on your lists. Welcome to this week's #SaveMoneyMonday! In case you don't know what #SaveMoneyMonday is, it's my new weekly (ish) feature. Cinema Moneysaving….
Is it me or is the cost of going to the cinema increasing to ridiculous levels? We were considering a last minute trip to the pictures last week until we realised it was going to cost £25 for a family ticket! We decided against going and instead went to Cineworld on Saturday morning to watch one of their Movies for Juniors films which only cost £1.50 per person. If you don't know about Movies for Juniors, they're brilliant! A Rainy day doesn’t have to be a stuck in the house day….
All week, I've been hoping forward to a lovely sunny weekend so I could make some inroads into the overgrown mess that is currently our back garden. Clearly it wasn't meant to be though because I got up this morning, pulled open the curtains and was greeted by a cloudy grey sky instead of the sunshine I wanted! So now that I have a gardening free weekend stretching ahead of me, I decided to have some fun with the kids even though I think were secretly hoping to spending the weekend being lazy and playing Minecraft.Last Summer I wrote a post about our favourite thing to do when it's … [Read more...]
