If you were going to buy a TV, you'd make sure you were getting the best deal on the TV you wanted wouldn't you?So if you're planning on going out for the day you really should be spending a few minutes before you go to make sure that you're paying as little as possible to go wherever it is that you're going. It takes hardly any time at all to do and could save you a fair amount so it's definitely worth taking the time to look around to check what the best deal is. These are the sites that I check whenever we're planning to go somewhere....1. The attraction's own website2. … [Read more...]
Planning the best Summer Holidays ever – Part 2….
Lots of us are in full Summer Holiday countdown mode this week - ours break up on Friday so the fun officially starts on Saturday, or so I've been told. I've worked hard over the last few month so I have some extra hours to take over the holidays and I'm so pleased that I have over half of it off with them. But I think because I've worked the extra couple of hours here and there and kind of feel like I've sacrificed time with them (and others) over the last few months I feel a little bit pressured to make these holidays brilliant. 80 ideas for your bored jar….
Do you have a Bored Jar?I've seen a few posts lately (like this one from Jen) about people making 'I'm bored' jars filled with ideas that are randomly chosen whenever anyone mentions the dreaded bored word and a quick search on Pinterest tells me that the makeshift jam jar filled with bits of folded paper is woefully inadequate* - just have a look at this little lot.(*only joking, it's the ideas that count not the presentation although there are some works of art on there aren't there?)We decided to update our I'm bored jar and make our own version using coloured lolly … [Read more...]

It’s Back – Free Family and Friends Railcard 2013….
A Family and Friends Railcard will save you a third off the price of normal adult train fares and 60% off children's fares so even taking into account that the price of one is going to increase to £30a year from the 19th May it still more than pays for itself over the course of a year. In fact, ours paid for itself on the first journey we booked with it to Manchester last Summer and it's carried on saving us money since then. I don't know about you but I'd much rather get the train than drive somewhere - it's a much more comfortable journey, there's no car parking to worry … [Read more...]
