When I saw that English Mum was having a Kids Halloween Bake off as part of her Great Big Autumn Bakeoff, I mobilised the kids and we got cooking (this was way easier said than done as they were engrossed in a film at the time!). Miss Frugal pored over her recipe books (she takes after me with this fetish) and discovered that the only thing we actually had all of the ingredients in for was Halloween meringue ghosts, so I proudly present to you, our entry for to the kids Halloween Bake off.... How to make your very own halloween meringue ghosts! 4 large egg whites 115g sugar 115g icing … [Read more...]
Halloween Story Cards….
We've made a set of story cards before (here) and we still play with them every now and again so I thought we could make a Halloween set of cards so we could tell some spooky Halloween stories this week.Last time we made our story cards using a mix of some cut up birthday cards and some rather pathetic looking drawings but today I thought we could do some colouring as well so I printed out some Halloween colouring pictures from here. (All you need to do is select Halloween, the number of cards you want and select the black and white version so you can colour them in yourselves.)We … [Read more...]
Crazy Colours….
It's funny how you forget the things you used to love doing when you were young and then something reminds you of it and you get to have fun all over again with your own children. The other day I read a fab post from Cathy at Nurture Store about wax crayon pictures and remembering how much fun I used to have doing this, I couldn't wait to try it with the kids. All you need for this is a piece of paper, some wax crayons and something to scratch out your picture (we used a wooden skewer).Colour in your whole sheet of paper using different colours, it really doesn't have to be perfect and … [Read more...]
The Quick Crafts Club….
"Hi, my name is Cass and I am creatively challenged" Surely, I'm not the only mum in the world who is not very good at crafts, I make the effort and we actually do quite a lot of crafty things but not many of them turn out like they were supposed to. My favourite crafts are the ones that take hardly any preparation and as little mess as possible so I thought I would start a Quick Craft Club to share my mess free easy kids crafts with you each week. If you've got any ideas or would like me to feature you in the next Quick Craft Club then leave a link to your post in the comments … [Read more...]
Bored, Bored, Board…. The Sequel
A little while ago we made our own board game called the Razzle Dazzle game and even if I do say so myself, it was brilliant. I can't for the life of me understand why Mattel or some other game making company aren't banging on out door trying to buy the rights to it (or not lol). We do actually still play it every now and again as Miss Frugal is so proud that she made her very own board game, she even took it to school with her for games day on the last day of school. So when she asked if we could make another one, I could hardly say no, could I?We were a bit limited with … [Read more...]
Homemade Nutella Cookies….
When I found out that the lovely Notsosinglemum was holding a Nutella Carnival I realised I had two choices. I could make the Slimming World version of Ferrero Rocher that she so kindly e mailed me about or should I go wild and make the homemade Nutella cookies recipe that I've been dying to try out. You would think I went for the Slimming World recipe wouldn't you seeing as I am taking part in notSupermum's Big Momma Challenge, however, you would be wrong! My entry to the Nutella Carnival is homemade Nutella Cookies:Ingredients 3 1/2 tablespoons of Nutella 50g sugar 3 tablespoons … [Read more...]
