If you were going to buy a TV, you'd make sure you were getting the best deal on the TV you wanted wouldn't you?So if you're planning on going out for the day you really should be spending a few minutes before you go to make sure that you're paying as little as possible to go wherever it is that you're going. It takes hardly any time at all to do and could save you a fair amount so it's definitely worth taking the time to look around to check what the best deal is. These are the sites that I check whenever we're planning to go somewhere....1. The attraction's own website2. … [Read more...]
We’re ba-ack – here’s what we thought of Pontins Southport….
This started off as a post that was going to be about what we'd been up to this week but turned into a bit of a review about where we stayed so I thought I should make it clear that is not a paid for review or anything like that. We paid for the accommodation ourselves - £139 for all of us for a full week)We're back from our week away and I'm so tired that I feel like I need another week to get over it!We've had a brilliant week although I'm not sure that I'm in two minds as to whether I'd recommend Pontins or not. Cheap Family and Friends Railcard….
We love travelling on the train when we go for days out. I find it a much more relaxing way to travel and we all enjoy the journey much more - especially me as I often put my headphones in and relax, leaving Mr Frugal in charge of the in-train entertainment. It does work out good value for money most of the time as you don't have to pay for petrol or parking but it's even better value if you have a Railcard. We have a Family and Friends Railcard which has saved us a fortune over the last couple of years and it easily paid for itself when we booked our first journey using it.You can … [Read more...]
Look what we’ve been up to so far this week….
We've had a busy week this week! We had our bonfire night on Sunday night and had some lovely friends round for hot dogs, cakes and hot chocolates with marshmallows and squirty cream....The next morning we set off to London to join Marmite as their guests in the Golden Circle (check us out) on Oxford Street for the big Christmas light switch on. They asked us a few weeks ago so we decided to go and celebrate our anniversary a week early by leaving the kids at home and having a grown up night away in London. We got a good deal on our train fares and our hotel room was a complete bargain … [Read more...]
