The One World Observatory is the highest point in New York and despite having two teenagers (and me) who really aren't all that keen on heights, we decided to visit last time we went to New York. The One World Observatory is right at the top of the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere - the One World Trade Center. One WTC is the main building of the rebuilt World Trade Center complex and even though I'm not exactly a building connoisseur, I think it's a beautiful building and I love the way it stands out in the New York skyline. It can be seen from all over Manhattan … [Read more...]
How to help your child become a Confident and Happy Traveller….
The moment I took the photo below was the moment I realised that Miss Frugal was a more confident and happy traveller than I am. We had just navigated our way across Heathrow to get from the gate where our internal flight landed to the gate where our flight to Los Angeles was departing from and she led the way the whole time.I was panicking about the short connection time we had, whether I'd need a wee while the seatbelt sign was on, if the passports were still where I'd put them in my bag, and whether the people in the posh seats would be dressed up smart (we got upgraded at the gate) but … [Read more...]

So far, I've shared what we did on the first three days of our budget trip to New York and today, I'm going to share our last full day with you. Trust me, it was a good day!Seeing as we did more than we'd expected on day 2, we'd actually ticked just about everything off of our New York bucket list by this point so I decided to go with plan b for today which was to head to the American Museum of Natural History.I was convinced the kids would love it as it looked like so much fun in the Night at the Museum films so, despite their protests, I put my foot down and told them we were … [Read more...]
