Hmmm, posts about LA, Beverly Hills and Hollywood don't really belong on a blog about living a frugal lifestyle, do they?Up until recently, I did kind of agree with that sentiment so even though, we've had some AMAZING holidays over the last couple of years, I haven't really shared all that much on here with you. But, after my post earlier this month, I thought I'd share some photos from last year's trip to LA with you because it was a year ago today that Miss Frugal and I were enjoying the last day of our holiday of a lifetime.I feel like I can genuinely call it a holiday of … [Read more...]
Review: Stockeld Park Christmas Adventure….
The Stockeld Park Christmas Adventure is definitely one of our favourite Christmas family traditions! It's somewhere we've been many times as a family and I don't think we've ever had anything other than an amazing family day!If you've never heard of the Stockeld Park Christmas Adventure before, it's located between Harrogate and Wetherby in North Yorkshire and is exactly what it says it is - a Christmas Adventure. There's an Illuminated Maze to navigate around, an enchanted forest filled with magical things to see and numerous playparks for the kids dotted … [Read more...]
Review: The One World Observatory….
The One World Observatory is the highest point in New York and despite having two teenagers (and me) who really aren't all that keen on heights, we decided to visit last time we went to New York. The One World Observatory is right at the top of the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere - the One World Trade Center. One WTC is the main building of the rebuilt World Trade Center complex and even though I'm not exactly a building connoisseur, I think it's a beautiful building and I love the way it stands out in the New York skyline. It can be seen from all over Manhattan … [Read more...]
How to help your child become a Confident and Happy Traveller….
The moment I took the photo below was the moment I realised that Miss Frugal was a more confident and happy traveller than I am. We had just navigated our way across Heathrow to get from the gate where our internal flight landed to the gate where our flight to Los Angeles was departing from and she led the way the whole time.I was panicking about the short connection time we had, whether I'd need a wee while the seatbelt sign was on, if the passports were still where I'd put them in my bag, and whether the people in the posh seats would be dressed up smart (we got upgraded at the gate) but … [Read more...]
Wynyard Hall Gardens in the Summer…
A couple of years ago, I shared some photos from our visit to the lovely Wynyard Hall gardens but because of the time of year we visited, the gardens weren't at their best. Today, I wanted to share some pictures of the gardens in the Summer...A couple of week's ago on Instagram, I shared a post about how much I'm enjoying taking photos of all things plants and flowers lately. It appears that Miss Frugal not only read this post but actually took note because yesterday, she actually got up early and suggested that we head to Wynyard Hall Gardens for the morning - just the two of … [Read more...]
Book a trip New York on a budget….
Today, I wanted to share with you a few ways that you can save money when booking a trip to New York because as expensive as it can be, there really is a way to get to New York on a budget - believe me, I've done it myself a couple of times.New York is somewhere I could visit time and time again – I’ve been a few times in the last couple of years and we have another trip booked for December this year so we can go and see our favourite city at Christmas time. The last time we were there was in February and I actually shared each day’s itinerary as a separate blog post if you’re … [Read more...]
