I can’t believe that on possibly the nicest day of the year so far, Mr Frugal has been at work all day and I feel like crap! The poor kids have been stuck at home all day and are now so full of energy they are driving me up the wall

We got it done much shorter than usual as I am so, so fed up of having to constantly be combing his hair for nits. I read a post on A Modern Mother the other day that absolutely sums it up for me – The time that I spend combing my childrens hair with the not comb is absolutely wasted if other parents don’t do the same! Aaaagh rant over!!!!
I had promised the kids that we could make home made pizza for tea but I really couldn’t be bothered so we made a cheat’s version (it was that or Pot Noodles all round lol).
All we did was cut some nice bread buns in half, spread on a mix of tomato puree and tomato sauce and topped with cheese….
I added some raisins to make a smiley face butt the thought of raisins on a pizza was apparently ‘gross’ and ‘disgusting’ so they came off shortly after this was taken.
If only there was a cheats way to do housework or to do washing then I’d be laughing.
BTW – By popular demand, I’ve replaced disqus comments with intense debate so I expect lots of comments now
Also, while you’re here. Some of our American Mummy Blogger friends do things like Follow Friday where there’s a McLinky at the end of a post and people add their blogs to it. You then follow as many or as few of the blogs as you like and those blogs follow you back. I was thinking of doing one of those as I’m always looking for new blogs to follow – would anyone be interested?

When I was little my mum always used to use Oil of Geranium ( 2/3 drops in a measuring jug of water) as a final rinse. The nits hate it! It kept us nit free all the way through school, including 6th form. She now works at a primary school that has a really bad infestation rate but hasn't had any problems because she does the final rinse with geranium oil.

We love homemade pizza! We also hate the nit comb too especially as my daughter has long knotty hair. Arggh!

I know the feeling with the constant fight against nits! I've just cut my eldest two's hair in a vain attempt to fight it. It drives me mad! The wee girl i look after before and after school. her folks are happy to leave it all week and treat at the weekend. which means more work for me. But ho hum.

I'd saw that if you got even one thing done off of your list, then the day is successful. Besides, that lunch looks good! Much more involved than the leftovers I always pull out for my kids.
