I’m back today with the last of my #BetterWithLeerdammer sandwich ideas and I’ve gone all traditional with a cheese and pickle sandwich made with a bloomer loaf.
All I did was slice up a bloomer loaf (on an angle so the slices were bigger), butter it, add a few slices of cheese and a big dollop of pickle. I added a salad and some sweet pepper relish to serve but they’re just window dressing really. The main event is the sandwich and just plain old cheese and pickle is delicious.
This is probably my favourite sandwich of the week although Mr Frugal is a fan of the tuna crunch and Miss Frugal likes the Mexican version best.
Sometimes quick and easy really is best!
Thank you to Leerdammer for inspiring this week’s lunches – I’ve done more with a cheese sandwich in the last week than I’ve ever done before and I’ve been surprised at my family’s reactions trying new food and actually enjoying it.
