Every year since the kids started nursery they’ve proudly presented us with a Christmas card that they’ve made for us!
You might remember that I generally don’t hang on to my children’s artwork but I make an exception for all of the beautiful Christmas cards that they’ve made for us over the years!
Every year when we unpack the Christmas decorations, I unpack all of their cards from years gone by and put them to one side. As a family, we decorate the tree and fill the house with all of our Christmas ornaments while we listen to Christmas carols but the homemade cards stay on the sideboard until the kids have gone to bed.
When the house is peaceful, I pour myself a glass of mulled wine and spend a little bit of time looking through them all remembering the smiley faces of the kids as they’ve handed over their handiwork each year.
Then I display them all on my living room door where I can look at them all over Christmas….
What do you do with your old homemade Christmas cards?
