I can’t believe that it’s only three sleeps until Christmas Day!
One of my favourite things about Christmas Day is Christmas Dinner although I think that’s probably because I don’t have the stress of cooking the meal itself as we always go to my Dad’s for the meal itself. It’s usually all under control when we arrive and after enjoying an amazing meal, I don’t even have to do the washing up afterwards (although I always volunteer).
We usually have a gammon joint, a chicken and a side of beef to choose from and it’s served with roasties, Yorkshire Puds and whatever veg my Dad fancies when he goes shopping for the food and although it does cost more than a normal Sunday Dinner, it certainly doesn’t cost the small fortune that I know some people spend on their Christmas meals.
Christmas Dinner is the biggest meal of the year for most of us so I don’t begudge people spending more on it at all but I did want to share a few Christmas Dinner bargains on here so you know where the savings are if you’re not already sorted. After all, the money’s better in your pocket than anyone elses….
Aldi’s Super Six vegetables this fortnight will save you a fortune on your Christmas day vegetables:
The Co-op has an amazing frozen meal deal for just £10 that will do a family of four easily:
I know a frozen meal deal certainly won’t be for everyone but it’s a great option if you’re on a budget. A bit of honey drizzled over the parsnips and some olive oil over the potatoes will make it a bit more ‘homemade’ and you could always do something special with those sprouts. 😉
Lidl have more offers on than I could possibly share with you with some great prices on everything from meat to veg and from starters to puddings so if you’re passing then it’s well worth popping in!
I’ve also managed to get some brilliant bits and pieces in the reduced section at Tesco over the last few days – my freezer is full to the brim right now!
