I know it’s been a while but I’ve decided to bring back the Cooking With Kids linky and we’re kicking it back off with homemade ice lollies, which I know don’t technically class as cooking but you make them in the kitchen and you eat them which is good enough for me and to be honest, I could do with a bit of inspiration so I’d love as many people as possible to join in so I get lots of yummy homemade ice lolly inspiration in time for the Summer….
We made our ice lollies with powdered strawberry milkshake which we made according to the instructions on the pack and added a few more scoops of powder to make them even more strawberrier…. The kids literally did everything on their own, from the mixing to the pouring and even the obligatory spilling of the liquid while you put them in the freezer!
We were given the fab rocket ice lolly moulds when we went to see Glee a few weeks ago but I’ve seen quite cheap ice lolly moulds from the big 3 supermarkets so I’m pretty sure you can get them in most supermarkets. In the past, we’ve also used empty yoghurt puts and silicone moulds with lolly sticks stuck in them before you freeze them.
They tasted gorgeous and we’ll definitely be making strawberry milkshake ice lollies again but we want some new ideas, which is where you guys come in. Share your favourite flavour on your blog (or e mail me if you’d prefer) and then rather than a linky, I thought you could just link to your posts by leaving a comment and then I’ll do a round up of all the entries in a few weeks (probably week comencing 24 July) and there’ll be a little prize for the best entry. You don’t need to link to me but you’re welcome to use the badge above if you want to – it’s all about the fun of spending time in the kitchen with your children so just have fun and make lots of yummy lollies….
