I’ve said this before and I’ll probably say it again but I am NOT a creative person.
It’s not that I don’t try though – it just seems like the harder I try to make something pretty, the worse the end result is. It’s like I got missed out when they were giving out the creative genes (I also missed out on the cooking genes and the green finger genes but hey ho) and things more often than not turn out looking very different to how I pictured it in my head before I started.
But before I show you this week’s crafting fail, I would like to point out that Miss Frugal and I often do a little creative creating (that’s my new technical term) together and as she is infinitely more creative than me we’ve had some great successes….
(Makeup brush cleaner, homemade lip scrub, personalised travel map, lavender sugar, peppermint foot scrub, hair detangler)
This week’s little foray into the world of creativity was most definitely not one of these successes though although it should have been based on how easy the numerous videos and tutorials online show it to be. We were trying to make marbled mugs using a bowl of water, a few drops of nail varnishes and a couple of cheap mugs and according to the instructions we just had to drop a few drops of nail varnish on the water and then ‘dip’ our mug in.
The results should have been a beautifully marbled mug that anyone would love to drink their morning cuppa out of but this wasn’t to be!
I love the colours but that’s about the only good thing I can say about it. 😉
