Dear School
this is just a brief note to thank you for letting me know so promptly that you had decided to close the school this morning due to adverse weather conditions.
I very much appreciated the telephone call 55 minutes after I had dropped the children off at the school breakfast club and had been on a bus journey to the train station, followed by a train journey and a walk to work through the 6inch thick snow.
It was good of you to let me know that my children were the only two children at school and that you supposed someone could stay with them until I was able to get back to collect them.
I am also glad that the school receptionist didn’t make me feel too guilty when I collected them by saying ‘Phew, thats me off home now then, I was only waiting for you to get here!’.
The whole situation was handled very well and much better than the rest of the schools in the area who used the radio and the council website to communicate with parents!
Thanks again.
Yours faithfully
Mrs Frugal
Dear Mr Frugal
Thank you so much for taking your lunch hour at 8.30 this morning so that you could drive me 12 miles home from work on the icy roads to pick the kids up from school.
I love you lots and lots like jelly tots.
Mrs Frugal
