It’s being snowing all day and I’m slowly going mad…. So far we’ve made our own little story books, we’ve watched the Christmas film Elf, we’ve watched way too many episodes of Phineas and Ferb, played on the X Box, baked a multi coloured cake and had a family snowball fight. Just when I thought I had nothing else left to keep the kids entertained, I found a packet of maltesers….
Now I know you’re all dying to know how you can entertain your children for over an hour with just a packet of Maltesers so without further ado, I’d like to welcome to the Frugal Family Maltesers Olympics…
Event 1 – The Maltsesers Obstacle Course
The object of this game is to balance your malteser on a spoon and complete an obstacle course – ours took the contestants over the settee, around the dining room table and up and down stairs. If you’re going to play this one you might want to remember to move all cups of tea before playing.
Event 2 – The Malteser Nibble
Super easy – All you need to do is nibble all the chocolate from the outside of the Malteser without nibbling the crunchy bit in the middle. The winner is the first one to have a chocolate free Malteser. Mr Frugal is the undisputed champion of this one – here’s his event winning Malteser:
Event 3 – Who Can Suck the Longest
This is way harder than it looks. Everyone gets a straw and has to use it to suck up their Malteser, the winner is the person who is able to keep the Malteser in the air for the longest. Poor Master Frugal just can’t do this one and ended up giving up and eating his.
Event 4 – Malteser Snooker
One contestant lies on the floor with their mouth open and the other has to use their straw as a snooker queue to get the Malteser into their mouth. It’s best when Miss Frugal’s mouth is the hole as it’s so big you can’t miss it 😉
Event 5 – The Malteser Race
Blow your Maltesers along the floor to the finishing line. Top Tip – Dont eat the Maltesers at the end as they may be slightly fluffy and hairy (trust me, I speak from experience).
Event 6 – Malteser Marbles
Gently throw a marble or something similar into the middle of the floor and then everyone has to throw their Malteser as close to the marble as possible. We did use a Malteser instead of a marble at first but there was a bit of confusion as to which was the marble Malteser and which was the Malteser Malteser if you know what I mean.
Event 7 – The Malteser Toss
One person sits with their mouth wide open and the others have to try and throw their Maltesers in their mouth. Again, anyone throwing into Miss Frugal’s mouth was at an advantage due to the size she can stretch it to!
Event 8 – The Malteser in the Air Game
The old favourite, lie on your back, put a Malteser on your mouth and gently blow to try and make your Malteser float. This isn’t our strongest event as none of us can manage to do this properly and we just end up with chocolatey faces.
(The video is from the last time we tried this)
Next week we might even have the Ferrero Rocher Olympics So any suggestions for events would be greatly welcomed 😉
