If you fancy a treat, here’s five ways you can earn cashback so you don’t need to feel guilty when you hit that buy button.
Anyone who knows me will know that I’m completely joking about the feeling guilty for buying a treat for yourself because I’m a big believer in intentional spending!
To me, being frugal isn’t about doing without and depriving myself of something I want. It’s about making sure that I get the best deal for everything I choose to buy and making a conscious decision to save in some areas of my life so I have money to spend in other areas.
If I’m treating myself then I always always use a cashback site like TopCashback to make sure I at least earn cashback on what I’m buying. I thought I’d share a few of the different deals on there right now where you can earn cashback when you make a purchase.
How to Earn Cashback
Earning cashback is so easy to do that to me, it’s a no brainer – it takes minutes to register and then from then, whenever you make a purchase online you just go to the top cashback website and do a search for the company you’ll be buying from. Click on the link to the website and you’ll be redirected from TopCashback to the site where you shop as normal and you’ll see any cashback you’ve earned be added to your account in due course.
So, here’s five ways to earn cashback on your guilty pleasure purchases…
(They’re all my refer a friend links which means that I’ll get a small payment if you register and earn cashback for yourself so you win, I win 😂😂😂 )
Guilty Pleasure #1 – Takeaways
OK, I know it’s the New Year and I know many of us are trying to turn over a new leaf and eat better but… If you do find yourself fancying a cheeky takeaway tonight to go with the last of the Christmas fizz then you can get a pretty decent 22% cashback on your tea if you order via Just Eat and Top Cashback.

Guilty Pleasure #2 – Sweets
There’s a shop called one pound sweets that one of my friends recommended to me as a place to get retro sweets for a hamper I was making as a Christmas gift and honestly, it’s amazing!
Honestly, there’s every sweet imaginable on there and you can sort by type, colour and flavour but I clicked on the retro sweets category and it was like being in my childhood corner shop (except I was sitting on my bed looking at my Macbook).

Guilty Pleasure #3 – a Cheeky Tipple
I discovered a website at the end of last year that sold miniature bottles of alcohol (pretty much every kind you can imagine) for what I think are pretty good prices. Obviously, the bigger bottles work out much better value but I wanted some miniatures to put in some gifts I made for Christmas and this was exactly what I needed.

Guilty Pleasure #4 – some Designer Gear
Obviously, I’d never encourage you to spend your hard-earned money on designer purchases where we all know that in reality, you’re paying for a label rather than the item itself in most cases but… I do have two teenagers who like the odd designer item and I have been known to splash out myself on a treat every now and again (although my purchases are generally more pre-loved and vintage than the lastest trends) so I did want to share this one with you just in case.
You can get 8.5% cashback on full price purchases at Flannels at the moment which is significant when you consider how much you would spend on there if you were to do a Flannels shop. One of Master Frugal’s presents was a hoodie from there which he really wanted so the cashback was most welcome!

Guilty Pleasure #5 – Travel
I know now isn’t necessarily the best time to be thinking about travel but maybe you prefer to have something to look forward to later in the year and also having something booked is the BEST motivation to save. I’m planning on booking a trip for later in the year as I really do need something to focus on.
Easyjet are currently doing a deal where they have £25 cashback on a holiday booking and although I haven’t looked at what they have available, I booked our trip to Milan with Easyjet a couple of years ago at an absolute bargain price so I’m confident you’ll find a good deal if you do want to think about booking.
