Here are five ways to earn some extra money for Christmas!
Judging by the number of posts I’ve seen on social media in the last week that are Christmas-related and the fact that the shops went from Halloween to Christmas even before the 31st of October this year, I’m guessing that Christmas is on a lot of people’s minds right now.
In the middle of all of the happy Christmas kind of posts though, there have been a few that have focused on the affordability of Christmas which I absolutely get. It’s been a tough couple of years and with the ever-rising cost of living then it’s not going to get easier for many for the foreseeable future.
Which got me thinking about things that you could do that would help you earn a bit of extra money for Christmas. There’s plenty you can do throughout the year but as we’re now midway through November, the options are a bit more limited as we’re looking at things that will pay out enough money to make a difference before Christmas.
I will follow this up with a post in January which will have more options so you can get a head start on next year but these are the ideas I have that I know will payout before Christmas…
(Some of the links below are my refer a friend links which means I get a little something if you sign up using them, usually only if you go on to earn some money though so it’s a win-win 😇 )
Easy ways to earn some extra money for Christmas
Oh My Dosh
I reshared my old post about Oh My Dosh last Friday and because it included my refer a friend link, I can actually see that quite a few people have already been on, signed up, and have actually cashed out using the Lightning Offers that payout in three days. There are loads of offers on there that are in the Lightning Offers page for the quicker payouts but so many more that are in the no spend category that take just a little bit longer so if you get going quickly then you should have those paid out in time for Christmas.
Here’s my Oh My Dosh refer a friend link which means you get an extra £1 when you sign up and I get £5 if you cash out.
Swagbucks
This is always top of my list when it comes to earning a bit of extra money because I do so well from it personally. You earn Swagbucks from completing surveys, playing games, watching videos, shopping, and even from free trials. You can then convert them into vouchers or PayPal credits. I always save my Swagbucks throughout the year and convert to Amazon vouchers in November.
Here’s my Swagbucks refer a friend link which means that we both get 300 SB if you earn 300 SB in your first 30 days which is super achievable!
Vinted
I’ve shared a couple of times recently (probably about 25, in reality 😂 ) how well I’ve been doing selling things on Vinted. I’ve got some clothes that are a bit too big for me and some that I never seem to wear so I’ve listed all of those on there to make some extra money. I use the money I make on there selling clothes to buy new ones usually so it’s like refreshing my wardrobe without spending but it’s just as easy to transfer the credit back to your bank account if you wanted to.
I’ve even bought a couple of things from charity shops recently specifically to sell on there and have made a reasonable profit so that’s an option too if you have time to comb your charity shops for the good brands that you know will sell. I can see how people can run a business like that as it’s a really good mark up for minimal effort but for me, I was just doing it as an experiment as I don’t have time to do it often enough to make consistent money.
Here’s my Vinted refer a friend link but honestly, it means that I get a £10 credit when you sell something but I have to spend £15 to get the £10 off so I rarely use the credits I earn on there from you guys. I do like seeing so many of you selling and making money though. You might also find How to sell on Vinted useful too.
Switch your Bank Account
A bit extreme just to earn some money for Christmas but the payouts definitely make this option worth considering. You’ll have to move quickly though as they can take around 30 days to process from the day you initiate the switch to the day you get the pay with some taking even longer. This is the best post I’ve seen anywhere online with comparisons, conditions, and timescales.
Use your local Facebook selling group
I bet you have a stack of things that you could sell that you don’t need or want anymore! What about the kids’ bikes that they’ve grown out of, a big bundle of last Summer’s clothes that don’t fit (do consider Vinted for the better ones though), or even the gadget you had to have but never really used?
Have a sort through and get some items listed on your local Facebook selling group. It’s so easy to do as you can literally list things using your phone and you don’t have to faff about with postage or packaging.
And there you have it, five things you can start now that will help you to earn some extra money for Christmas. You won’t make your fortune but I guarantee it will help!
