I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t proud of the relationship I have with my daughter.
At almost 14, she still enjoys spending time with me (although I’m not always her first choice these days) and will still happily sit and fill me on what’s going on in her life. She’s very honest with me and I like to think that she knows that she can ask me anything (as she frequently does).
I love the person she’s growing up to be and I am making the most of every minute we have together trying to teach her the important things that I think she needs to know in order to be the person I know she can be….
Be confident
Be confident in everything that you do because you are as good as anyone else in this world.
Be proud
Be proud of yourself and everything that you achieve and don’t be afraid to share your achievements with other people.
Be sassy
I want you to be polite and nice to everyone in this world but a little bit of sass is a good thing and will stop you from being taken advantage of.
Be yourself
You are an amazing person and you don’t need to try and be anyone else for any reason at all – just be you!
Don’t be afraid to fail
One of our favorite quotes teaches you that if you don’t try new things because you’re afraid to fail then you might never find the things that you excel at or the things you love.
Dream big
You can achieve anything you want to so don’t ever be afraid to dream (if you’re reading this I do not mean dream of that new Mac make-up pallette that you’re after).
Do what makes you happy
Being a grown up isn’t always easy so if you find something that makes you happy then do it.
Know that you are beautiful
You are beautiful, inside and out so don’t you ever forget that. You don’t need make-up or expensive clothes – just your beautiful smile.
See the world
It’s a big old world out there and you can learn so much from the people in it so take every opportunity to travel and see the world. I’ll be there with you for as long as you’ll have me!
Don’t let fear control you
I know you’re scared of some things but you should never let fear stop you from doing something you want to try.
Know that I love you
No matter where you are or where I am, I want you to know that I will always love you. There is nothing you can do that will ever stop me from loving you or being there for you.
