I’m working with Esso today to tell you all about the Esso Nectar Loyalty programme. As always, all opinions are absolutely my own though.
Anyone who knows me knows that there’s nothing I like more than anything that saves me time or money!
Which is why I’m super pleased today to be telling you all about the Esso Nectar loyalty programme which gives Esso customers the chance to earn Nectar Points whilst filling up on fuel at participating service stations.
As you probably know if you’re a regular reader, I drive a LOT of miles each day for my commute to and from work so knowing that I can earn Nectar points on my fuel spending makes the amount I spend on petrol a little more bearable. 😉
I drive right past three different petrol stations on my drive to and from work every day but ever since the Esso Nectar loyalty programme launched back in June, I’ve made sure that it’s the Esso petrol station that I stop at. It’s a no-brainer for me to spend my money in the petrol station where I’ll get something back in return and one Nectar point on every litre of fuel adds up pretty quickly when you drive the miles that I do each week!
As part of the Esso Nectar loyalty scheme, I can also collect 2 Nectar points for every pound on in-store purchases when I swipe my card so I’ve got into the habit of a midweek mini shop when I do my midweek refuel. Rather than paying on the app as I usually do, I’ll pop into the shop and get a couple of essentials, collecting some cheeky extra Nectar points on my spend in there as well as on my petrol spend.
I’ll be honest though, my midweek mini shop though is less about collecting the points and more about saving me some time as I know that if I didn’t pop in and get these extra little bits and bobs that we’ve inevitably run out of at home by the middle of the week then I’d end up getting in from work and going back out again to the supermarket. And if that happens, we all know that it’s highly unlikely that I’m just going to buy the bread and milk that I need.
Petrol and shopping aside, I also love the fact that I can pay using my the Esso App on my phone. Unless it’s a day when I know I need to pop in for my mid-week mini shop, I’ll often put off putting petrol in on my way home from work even when I know I need it because I just want to get home after a long day – which is all well and good until 7 am the next morning when I remember that I need petrol but I’m cold, tired and more often than not, running late.
If you want to have a try yourself, just download the app and link your Nectar card up and as a bonus, you’ll earn 500 Nectar Points on your first fill using the app
Being able to pay using the app on my phone is brilliant as it makes filling up super quick and means that I’m out of my car in the cold for as little time as possible. Honestly, it’s a game-changer for me and my lazy self and the fact that I’ve linked my Nectar card to the Esso app makes it even better as I don’t even need to swipe my card, the app just knows!
The first time we filled Mr Frugal’s car up after I realised I could pay with the app it was pouring down so I offered to pay if he got out and put the petrol in – imagine his face when he realised my kind offer was based on the fact that I didn’t even have to leave the car to keep up my side of the deal. 😉
Download the app and link your Nectar card, and as a bonus you’ll earn 500 Nectar Points on your first fill using the app!
Esso has more than 1,200 Esso-branded filling stations so there’s bound to be one near you! You’ll be able to collect Nectar points at all participating Esso branded service stations across the UK. You can have a look here to find out which service stations you can collect Nectar points at.
And the Nectar points you collect? Well, you can use them on all sorts – from travel to shopping and from eating out to trips to the cinema so why not collect loyalty points on something you need to spend on something you want!
Between 5th November 2019 and 26th February 2020, Esso customers can benefit from a Nectar points double up, helping to make the everyday more rewarding for drivers.
For every qualifying purchase of £5 or more on shop items such as milk or snacks at participating Esso Stations, customers will receive double the amount of Nectar points, simply by swiping their Nectar card at the till when they pay.
Terms and conditions apply for the Esso Nectar loyalty programme. This is a collaborative post with Esso.
