It’s been a few weeks since I’ve actually sat and typed up our weekly menu but I have been sticking to my meal planning (mostly) and using my meal planning wall planner 😉
We’re on countdown to our holidays (6 weeks to go) so I’m going to be extra frugal this week and try and have another ‘shopping from our cupboards‘ week which is even easier than usual thanks to the brilliant bargains I’ve got from the reduced section in our supermarket lately!
In one shopping trip, I got two packs of chicken fillets for 60p each, 2 haddock fillets for 30p, 2 river cobbler fillets for 30p and some king prawns for 45p – Bargain!
Saturday – Paella using the bargain chicken and prawns.
Sunday – Toad in the hole with mash and veg.
Monday – Home made fishcakes with sweet potato wedges and salad – I’ll make extra potatoes on Sunday to make the mash to use in the fishcakes as they always taste better if you make them with cold mash for some reason.
Tuesday – Turkey meatballs with pasta.
Wednesday – Mix up day to use up some of the random things we have in the freezer – Steak pie and fries for Mr Frugal, garlic crusted salmon and fries for Miss Frugal, chicken nuggets and fries for Master Frugal and I’ll have sweet chilli salmon with cous cous.
Thursday – Quesadilla night – spicy chicken for Master Frugal and Miss Frugal and plain cheese and beans for Master Frugal who doesn’t do spice. I’ve gone off quesadilla’s so I might just have chicken and cous cous or sweet potato wedges.
Friday – Pizza and garlic bread.
