1) Last weekend we had a family day out at Flamingo Land!
Anyone who’s been to Flamingo Land will probably know that it’s far from a frugal day out with the entrance fee being £38.50 per person but we found some buy one get one free vouchers on HotDealsUK so we got in for half price. Still not a great price for just one day but it was one of those perfect days with friends where you don’t want the day to end so I think it was worth it in the end.
I’ll write up our thoughts about the day over the weekend if you’re interested.
2)Not only have I managed a week’s worth of Slimming World friendly packed lunches for work, I’ve just made these little bad boys ready for lunch tomorrow!
They’re spinach, tomato and potato Slimming World quiches and I know from experience that they will taste gorgeous. They used up the last bits of spinach and potatoes so very frugal too.
3) I made another batch of my sleep spray this week and this time I took photos so I’ll definitely share it with you in the next week or so. It really is great for helping me get off to sleep.
4) I’m not sure if this one is frugal or silly! We’re off to Milan and Lake Como at the end of the month and I completely forgot that passports had to be valid for three months after the date of return when you travel to Italy. I rang the passport office and they quote me £190 for to passports to get the 1 week service but they said I *should* be OK if I just sent them normally which was a huge chunk less to pay out.
Rather than pay the extra I decided to take a chance!
Luckily they’ve just been delivered today so I feel like my gamble paid off. 😉
5) I bought a mint plant from Tesco for the bargain price of 19p this week – a bargain because it was clearly on it’s last legs. I brought it home, chopped off the dead leaves and watered it to see if I could bring it back to life and guess what? It’s thriving to the point that it’s taking over the kitchen windowsill. It was just what I needed to make some lovely pea and mint soup for lunch too….
As always, we’d love you to join in with us by sharing what frugal and thrifty things you’ve been up to this week – whether it’s an Instagram picture (#5frugalthings), a blog post or even a video. Just add your link to the linky at the bottom of this post.
You don’t have to share five things you’ve done, anything thrifty or frugal that you’ve been doing is perfect.
You’re more than welcome to copy and paste the badge above but it would be even better if you could let your readers know that you’re linking up with us by adding a little line to the bottom of your post like this one:
I’m linking up with this Cass, Emma and Becky in this week’s ‘Five Fabulously Frugal things I’ve done this week’ linky.
