Anyone with children of a certain age will probably (almost definitely)have heard them utter the words ‘Mum, I’m bored’ at some point!
It drives me mad, especially when there’s so much for children to do these days so the words are banned in my house although I can always tell when they’re bored because of the way they wander from room to room picking things up and putting them straight back down again.
So as well as our bored jar (which is amazing for giving the kids ideas to keep themselves occupied) we also have a little posted on the side of the fridge:
The poster works really well for my two as they have to work their way down the list if ever they’re bored. It’s also great for me if I can see that they’re at a loss for something to do as I can just give them ideas based on it.
You’re more than welcome to print it out (it’s A4 sized) and use it yourself to stick it on your fridge door – I guarantee it will probably stop the dreaded words being spoken.

Really like this. Just changing one thing – instead of Enjoy a film – changing to Enjoy a game. My kids spend way to much time on electronics so just adapting it.
What an amazing idea!!!!
fantastic idea, and so simple and easy too! x
What a fab idea – always looking for ideas to get the kids interested in other activities
What a novel idea of having such a poster.
I'm forever telling my 3 when it's screen free time, there's no such thing as bored, just lack of imagination.
This is a great idea. I think I'm going to create one of these, as well as a bored jar, for myself. I can't read what's on the printale as I'm blind.
What a fab idea! Now do you have on for husbands…..
Very good list of things to do
brilliant
Brilliant post, my boys are forever complaining they're bored so I'll be printing this for sure!
super idea, half term will soon be upon us again!
Haha this is awesome – I think I need it for my other half – he still seems to have bored moments!
What a fantastic idea! Jack isn't quite old enough to come out with this just yet but this will be very handy when he does!
Brilliant – and ever so simple – idea. There's always something to do. I don't think life is ever really boring when you're a child….(or I hope not!)
Some brilliant tips there. Thanks
I love this and have pinned it and printed it out already!
