Despite seeing lots of amazing photos online of the fun that everyone’s been having at this Summer’s family festivals across the UK, we still haven’t made it to one as a family.
We decided to have a bit of a festival at home instead though to take advantage of one of the few really sunny days that we’ve seen this year and I’m pleased to say that the now annual frugal festival was a success and we had a lovely day!
We got to choose our own music, we had food and drink on tap and we didn’t have to pitch a tent and camp out. Not to mention the fact that we had no wifi issues and we got to pause the festival to go paddle in next doors paddling pool without worry about a change of clothes!
You may or may not agree but personally, I think we may have mastered the whole festival-at-home lark at the first time of trying…. 😉
There was even an attempted sleepout which lasted about an hour and a half….
As I’m sure you can tell by the photos, our festival was really just a day in the garden spending time together as a family followed by a bit of a family games night. By calling it a festival, it really captured the kids’ imaginations and made it an even better day for them.
We had the radio playing in the kitchen with all the doors open so we could hear it but the neighbours weren’t subjected to the kids dubious tastes and we had a lovely picnic tea which we ate inside as Master Frugal isn’t a fan of bugs!
Has anyone else managed a similar day this Summer?
