Every week I share five frugal things that I’ve done during that week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life.
Hey! 👐
1) It’s been a while since I started one of these posts with a reduced price bunch of flowers, hasn’t it? I’ve not really been able to get to the shops as much as I used to be able to thanks to what’s going on in the world right now so I haven’t really managed to get my hands on any bargain flowers for what feels like forever!
This week though, I did manage to find this little guy, sitting on the shelf looking pathetic with a yellow sticker stuck over the crack in his pot telling me he was reduced to £1.
I brought him home and am currently easing him in gently by putting his pot into a nice white little ceramic pot of my own but I’ll transplant him fully at some point. A bit of water perked him right up straight away though so I have high hopes for my first plant bargain of the year.
2) I did it!
I know it’s just a number and each lender has their own criteria anyway but I really just wanted to get back to a perfect score. 😂
If you don’t know what your score is then have a look at this post where I explain why it’s a good idea to know what it is – even if you’re not planning on applying for credit anytime soon.
3) OK, this next photo didn’t really go according to plan.
It’s actually the inside of a tube of BB cream which I use on days when I’m working for home as it’s a really light coverage that’s more of a tinted moisturiser with SPF than any kind of makeup but it just looks like a bit of an abstract brown mess, right?
Basically, I couldn’t get any more product out just by squeezing the tube so I cut the end off and there was enough in there for a good three or four days extra which gave me enough time to order another tube online.
4) I’ve tried to be super good with lunches this week with leftovers, homemade soup and batch cooked egg muffins from the freezer…
It sounds like it’s taken way more effort than it has really though – I just added a bit of extra pasta to our tea on Monday night so I’d be guaranteed to have enough for leftovers on Tuesday, the egg muffins were from a big batch I made over Christmas and popped in the freezer and the soup is from a packet mix of soup which made lunch for three of us for 99p.
5) I’m conflicted on this last one but I made pasta this week from scratch which you’d think would be a good thing to include in a five frugal things post, wouldn’t you? But actually, I could have bought a pack of our usual dried pasta for less than the homemade pasta cost me.
I suppose it’s a good thing as I was using up some pasta flour that we’d bought in for Master Frugal who need to learn to make pasta from scratch for his food tech lesson.
