Every week I share five frugal things that I’ve done during that week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life.
Hey! 👐
1) Did you catch my ‘how to sell on Vinted‘ post last week?
I’ve made a bit of extra money this week by selling some of the things I listed on there last weekend and it’s actually been so easy that at one point I was considering whether to actually do a charity shop crawl tomorrow just to look for things to sell but I’m not sure that it would be genuinely worth the time as I’d not make a huge amount per item unless I found some huge bargains if I’m buying them specifically to sell on.
Here’s my refer a friend link if you fancy giving it a go yourself.
2) This one is kind of related to number 1 but I’m giving it a section of its own. 😂
Despite lots of clear-outs and de-clutters, I do have a lot of ‘stuff’ that I could do with getting rid of. It’s things that I don’t want to send to a charity shop as it feels like I could make a little bit of money from it but equally, I’m just not wanting to do a car boot sale at the moment with the way things are.
So, I’ve had a brutal clear out of things and now have loads of things to list on Vinted that I don’t want or need in my life but that can make a few extra pounds. I’ve set myself up a little selling area in our spare room for the next couple of weeks to keep me organised and I’m going to get rid of some of the things I’ve been hanging onto for too long simply because I didn’t know what to do with them.
There’s a Pandora bracelet, a Tiffany ring, some nice handbags and a pile of clothes in there at the moment. 😂
3) I was planning to Actifry Fajitas for tea on Monday but Miss Frugal was in charge of Sunday Dinner last weekend and she peeled enough potatoes to feed an army. So I had potatoes and gammon to use up so I swapped out the fajitas for an adapted version of these cheesy mashed potato pancakes instead.
(I posted my meal plan over on Meal Planning Made Easy on Monday which is something I try but often fail to do every week)
4) I washed all my towels yesterday when it was warm and windy and managed to get them all done just before the rain came. I give them a fluff up wash every now and again and yesterday was the perfect day weather-wise so I got them all done.
I wasn’t the most popular person when Master Frugal got up mid-morning and went to have himself a shower before discovering that every single towel we owned was on the line in the back garden drying. 😂
5) I cancelled a subscription this week that has survived all other subscription culls that I’ve done over the last couple of years.
Honestly, every time I’ve looked at the Direct Debits coming out of my bank account each month, my finger has hovered over the cancel button for this one but for various (mainly sentimental) reasons, I’ve not actually cancelled it. I just decided that enough was enough though and cancelled it the day before this month’s payment was due.
It was in time to stop the payment going through so I’ve used that money for a treat this month and then from next month I’ll have the extra in my bank account.
