Every week (ish) I share five frugal things that I’ve done during the previous week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life.
Hey! 👐
1) Look what’s back!
It’s the return of my bargain flowers…
This is three bunches of flowers all reduced from £3 to 20p so I couldn’t resist them.
2) And continuing with our latest tradition of finding places to play with the kids that aren’t going to break the bank, we visited the new playpark at Danby Forest last weekend and it was so much fun. We went for a nice walk in the woods afterwords and had almost as much fun in there as we had in the playpark.
We found all kinds of magical things on our walk and managed to get a fair few steps in which worked off the cake I had while the kids were playing in the play
3) We try and have a date night every week – even if it just involves a drive to the beach for an ice cream and a wander.
I thought I’d share last weekend’s date with you as we were planning a meal out but we ended up getting a sandwich each from the village shop a couple of cans of pop and for pudding, a bag of choc nibbles.
The reason we changed plans was we drove past this….
It’s a little duck pond in our village and it looked so peaceful on Sunday night that we changed plans at the last minute and grabbed something from the shop and ate it on one of the benches around the outside of the pond.
We had a lovely hour just eating our tea and catching up after a really busy week!
4) We bought a Starbucks Too Good to Go bag last weekend!
I know Starbucks isn’t the best value when it comes to Too Good to Go but we paid £4 and got three sandwiches and two cake pops which is really good value.
The only problem was… the egg sandwich was very peppery for some reason and the other ones were just bizarre flavours that neither of us could get away with. The cake pops were yummy though!
It wasn’t a huge success for us personally this time but the value was there!
5) My Bike to work scheme payments are done with this month so I’m going to see a slight increase in my pay from next month I’ve been sensible and set up a standing order from my bank account to a savings account for the exact amount that I will be up next month as I’ve managed fine without it for the last year so I might as well be sensible and save the extra money!
So, there’s this week’s five frugal things!
