Every week I share five frugal things that I’ve done during that week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life.
Hey! 👐
1) Last night was supposed to be Instant Pot chicken and rice for tea using some shredded chicken from the freezer but I popped into M&S to take something back and I found some bargains…
I moved the Instant Pot chicken and rice to Sunday which means I won’t need to buy a joint of meat as I was planning and we had gammon and pineapple last night.
2) Our local Morrisons had a fridge full of reduced grated mozzarella with a 1kg bag costing just 88p which is an absolute bargain.
I bought two 1kg bags and then portioned them into smaller bags when I got home so it’s easy just to get out what I need when I need it. In case you’re wondering, I do find that cheese that’s been frozen is fab for cooking purposes (pizza, pasta bakes etc.) but not for eating cold like in a sandwich.
3) I made some homemade ice lollies this week using some rose and elderflower cordial and my old silicone popsicle moulds. (aff link – similar ones here as I get asked every year when I share them haha).
They were OK and definitely refreshing in the heat we’ve had this week but honestly, I don’t think I’ve mastered the juice to water ratio as they’re either too weak or way too strong.
4) Did you see my Vinted bargains post on Wednesday? I’ve sold lots of things this month so used the money I made to treat myself to some new clothes. My favourite bargain of the month is a beautiful Lindy Bop dress which I got for just £12!
I love love love it but I think I need something to just make it less revealing around the top as it’s just a bit too low for me to be super comfortable with.
5) I’ve been doing that thing where I close my curtains around 4pm in my bedroom to try and keep the late afternoon heat out when it’s been so hot this last week. If I didn’t, I’d need the fan on full every night as my room gets hot later in the day with the sun shining in.
