Every week I share five frugal things that I’ve done during that week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life.
Hey! 👐
1) So, there wasn’t much in the way of trick or treating last weekend so I made some lovely Halloween bark with the sweets we had leftover.
We did bag some up for the neighbours kids rather than keep it all for ourselves. 🌈
2) It’s been a long week this week so I’m planning a bit of a pamper night tonight! I made a batch of my homemade milk bath ready for a nice long relaxing bath which I’m going to enjoy along with a book that I’ve been looking forward to reading for ages.
After my bath, I’m going to put on some fresh PJs and get into bed with my book and maybe some Netflix! A cheap but very relaxing pamper night!
3) Remember me telling you about my new glasses last week?
Well, I love them and they have made a difference but because I don’t have to wear them all the time, I’m struggling to remember to keep them with me. So I decided a spare pair would be a good idea. No way did I want to spend that much on my spare pair so rather than go back to the opticians, I had a quick search online and found lots of sites where you upload your prescription so you get exactly what you need.
Once site I found was Glasses Direct who had a special offer on which I don’t 100% get as I thought it was ‘get 50% off your first pair and get your second pair free’ for new customers but I chose two pairs of £49 glasses and got £33 off one pair and the other one was completely free.
So, I don’t get how it worked but I’m happy as I paid just under £20 including delivery so I’m not going to spend time figuring it out. 😂.
I didn’t spend too much time choosing because (a) I genuinely don’t think you can choose glasses that will suit you from a website unless you already know what shape and style you’re after which I really didn’t and (b) they’re just spare pairs to keep at work and in the car really.
I just set the filter to pink and picked the first two that I liked and went for them but they do have loads on there if you’re in the market for a new pair of glasses.
After my order, I got an email letting me know that if I wanted to refer a friend then they’d get £35 off a pair (and I’d get an Amazon gift card for the pleasure) but I’ll be honest, I think the deal I got on the site by signing up work out cheaper. Here’s the link for the £35 off if you want to have a play about though.
4) I made some Oreo truffles using half a tub of Philadelphia that I had in the fridge and a packet of Oreos that I bought ages ago before discovering that everyone in the house has decided that they no longer like them.
Well, believe me, they liked Oreo Truffles – so much so that I made them and left them to set in the fridge and when I came back to check on them and take some photos in case I decided to share the recipe on the blog and there were four left. Four!
Thanks kids!
5) I’ve started my Christmas cupboard with a four-pack of snowballs which is our traditional Christmas Eve drink.
I hate that big Christmas shop where people literally pile their trolleys high with treats and goodies and I’d much rather buy a treat each week when we do our shopping and pop them away in the garage until Christmas so we can have our treats without really feeling the pinch when we pay for them
