Every week (ish) I share five frugal things that I’ve done during the previous week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life.
Hey! 👐
1) Remember last week when I shared all the stuff I’d added to Facebook Marketplace?
Well we had a pretty successful week of selling which included one lunchtime delivery and one meeting someone off a bus and have been able to put some money aside for Summer. We have a couple of cheeky breaks away with the kids so everything has been split into two envelopes ready to go.
I’ve got some more plans for the next couple of weeks to try and make a little bit more money – including a car boot sale and some Vinted selling so wish me luck!
2) We got a Too Good To Go Magic bag this week for £3.30 and this is everything we got…
We were driving home from Bike club on Monday night and thought we’d check and see what was on the Too Good To Go app and found a bag literally at an Asda 100 yards away from where we were driving so we bought it on the app and popped in for it. I think we got a great little haul for our money but what made it even better was that everything had a few days left on it so we didn’t have to attempt to eat as much as possible of it in one night as you often do with these bags.
3) I’m pretty sure I’ve told you about Airtime Rewards in the past?
It’s an app where you get money off your phone bill just by spending in certain retailers and using your usual debit and credit cards to pay. I won’t explain it all here but it is ridiculously easy to sign up and start earning.
I checked my balance this morning on there and in a couple of weeks I will have enough to redeem £10 off my mobile phone bill…
I love things like this – you know, where you save money without even trying!
4) I know not everyone is a fan of air fresheners but I do like do have a couple in the house to keep it smelling nice. I love these ones that you can set to spray every half hour or so but the refills aren’t cheap at all.
I found a cheaper version of them in Home Bargains last week. There’s two different types – there are some normal scented ones that are your average air freshener scents like linen, lavender, berries etc and then there’s some which are meant to smell like designer perfumes which cost a bit more at £1.49.
There’s one that smells like Alien, one that smells like Daisy and the pink one in my picture above that I love but I don’t know what it’s supposed to smell like.
The branded ones are £3+ so these ones are a much cheaper option and smell just as lovely.
I do also still make my own homemade room spray and use that too.
5) I just realised that you can download the Asda Rewards app onto two phones and log into the same account on both of them! Not rocket science I know but I can’t tell you the amount of times my other half has popped to Asda and handed me a receipt so I could add the points on next time I was in the shop.
I would promptly forget about the receipt and the points were lost forever. 😀
Well now that he has the app on his phone, we never need to lose any points again so we can add to our Christmas savings pot ready to use it to buy lots of goodies when we do our Christmas shop!
So, there’s this week’s five frugal things!
