I can’t believe it’s Christmas next week!
I haven’t been feeling particularly festive if I’m honest but I think that’s because, since my operation in October, we haven’t really done very much outside of the house together. Even our annual Christmas days out have been either cancelled or the kids have gone with our friends instead of us which has made me sad because I love the things we do at this time of year more than any other.
I’m planning on going back to work in a couple of weeks because I feel like life’s been on hold for most of this year and it frustrates me. I’m about 75% me again now (if you don’t count the awful cough I have at the moment) and I think that’s going to have to be enough for now.
So today, instead of us all just doing our own thing as we’ve done way too often lately, we took the dog, a football and my camera to the beach for the first time since the Summer. We did this nearly every night in the Summer and I’ve really been missing the hours we spend there – even if the weather was much warmer in the Summer. The kids play football with Mr Frugal while I wander up and down with the dog at my heels (he’s scared of the football so he follows me) and my camera in my hand snapping anything and everything that I see.
I must admit that I was pleased to be a good distance away taking photos rather than joining in with the football ‘fun’ because the gentle game of football quickly turned into a game that was a cross between rugby and some sort of martial art with no rules. They all give as good as they get and the pushing and shoving is all good fun apparently but even so, the mum in me can’t help but tell them to be careful. I even felt a bit like my own mum today when I shouted that they needed to be careful or it would all end in tears which is something she would have said. 😉
It was a spur of the moment idea to go to the beach and when we got home I realised that Mr Frugal had been wearing the Adidas track suit bottoms and Adidas Fleece hoodie that he was sent by Jacamo to review so I thought I’d combine this post with telling you about them too. He was also sent a gorgeous Nike polo shirt but doesn’t have it on in the pictures as I was just taking pictures as I normally do until I realised what he was wearing. The fact I didn’t think I’d be sharing these pics also explains the hair that looks like he’s had an electric shock or the fact that the photos aren’t great because they’re mostly of them playing football in the fading light of the afternoon – – I’ll never make a fashion blogger will I?
Mr Frugal is definitely not a smart casual kind of guy, he’s more or a casual casual type and rarely wears anything other than tracksuit bottoms and football shirts unless he’s working when he needs to smarten up a bit. I was just laughing about the photos I’ve taken today and asked whether he thought we should re-shoot them in better light and more fashion blogger style but he pointed out that these photos show him wearing the clothes we were sent by choice rather than being told to put them on and wear them. He says that’s the kind of review he would like to read and he’s got a point hasn’t he?
We were a bit surprised when we looked at the Jacamo website initially to choose the clothes he was going to review because we had two pre-conceptions about what sort of clothes Jacamo stocks. We thought (a) they were mostly for larger me and (b) that there wouldn’t be a big range to choose from. I’m pleased to say that we were totally wrong on both counts and were pleased to find a huge range of clothing that covers just about every size, style and budget.
Mr Frugal was particularly impressed with the sportswear range and quickly chose some lovely Adidas tracksuit bottoms, this cool Adidas hoodie and a lovely Nike Polo shirt. The delivery was super quick and the website says that Next Day Delivery is standard so I’d have no hesitation ordering something I needed urgently – it’s a much better option than having to go shopping with him!
There was a huge range of sportswear to choose from and all at reasonable prices similar or just under what I think you’d find them for if you were out shopping. The hoodie and track suit bottoms that we chose were both something that Mr Frugal loved straight away but we’d not seen either of them in any shops so I’d definitely recommend checking out Jacamo to see what they have available!
The quality of the clothes is as you would expect from brands like Adidas and Nike – we know from experience that they wash well, never need ironing and always look good on and they’re always true to size.
I would definitely use Jacamo in the future for Mr Frugal’s clothes and I’m sure I’ve just seen him having a sneaky look on there for a Christmas jumper so he’s clearly a fan too!
