I need to get myself organised.
Everything’s been really hectic in the last few months (in a good way) and it’s getting harder and harder to keep track of who should be where and when. The house is in a bit of a state as I never seem to have time to do everything that I need to so. My usual organised morning routine has gone out of the window and due to some unexpected expensive car repairs the month before last, we’re still playing catch up with our money.
I managed to miss the open afternoon at school today as I completely forgot it was today and yesterday, Miss Frugal went to school with no socks on and her trainers. How did I not notice that? In her defence, she does have a large mosquito bite on the inside of her foot that’s really itchy and sore, but still….
So, here’s my plan.
I’m going to write a weekly plan – I’ll include my meal plans and a set job (or jobs) around the house to do every day. I’m also going to think of ways to be a lot more organised with my time and hopefully, life will start to seem a little less chaotic.
Here’s this week’s plan:
Tuesday
Chicken and brocolli suet pastry roll – I’ll let you know how this turns out!
Finish the washing from holidays (not much for today as I’ve got a birthday party, a friend round and a shopping trip to replace some holey shoes!
Make tomorrow’s lunch for me (Mr Frugal does packed lunches on a night so I just have to sort something for me). I NEVER manage to be organised enough to do this so usually end up not having anything until I get home which means I’m starving and eat more!
Wednesday
Sausage, egg, bacon, chips and beans
Upstairs bathroom – Wipe the bath, sink and toilet. Wash the floor and wipe the skirting boards. Put the towels and the mats through the washing machine. Tidy the bath toys and organise the toiletries to make sure we use up what we have before we buy anything else. Wipe the windowsill and frame.
Do the same with the downstairs toilet.
Make tomorrow’s lunch for me
Thursday
Cottage pie or mince and dumplings
Today is living room day – Dust everything and wipe the windowsill. Give the settee a good wipe over hoover. Sort our the magazine rack and the dog toy basket as they seem to be overflowing at the minute. Investigate how to take the cover off the children’s Ikea chair that we have as it’s looking grubby. Quick wipe over doors and door handles.
Make tomorrow’s lunch for me
Friday
Paella
Downstairs hall – Sort shoe pile out. Hoover and wipe walls. Wash inside of front door and mirror.
Saturday
Home made Pizza
I don’t work weekends so I have a lot more time today.
Children’s bedrooms – Change bedding, clear clutter and tidy up. Hoover.
Tidy up our room, dust and hoover.
To help with bloggy things – investigate Google Calendar
Sunday
Yorkshire puddings and roast chicken with veggies and roast potatoes
Kitchen – The basics get done on a daily basis in the kitchen, usually by Mr Frugal, but today, I’ll mop the floor as well as sweeping it. Wash the windowsill and the cupboard doors. General de-clutter.
Figure out a way to keep track of where everyone needs to be and when. We have a calendar for this but it’s a bit big and I took it down when I got a new giant clock 😉 I’ll need to re-home the calendar or think of something else!
Make Packed Lunch cake for next week.
What do you think of that little plan then?
I’d love you to join in with Get organised (mostly so I can share your ideas as I could do with all the help I can get at the minute).
