You might have noticed that over the last month or so I’ve started to share a post every Sunday about a day out that we’ve enjoyed as a family together recently.
I was inspired a little bit by some lovely days out that we’ve had as a family since we got our annual family membership to the English Heritage but also I thought it would motivate me a little bit more to make sure that we continue to get our and about now that the Summer’s over.
Yesterday we went back to a local forest that we discovered last weekend – it’s less than 15 minutes drive from where we live but we’ve never visited before!
There’s miles of woodland to walk through dotted with really fun playparks and beautiful wildlife. There’s amazing sculptures carved out of the trees, a trim trail, birdwatching huts, a pond for fishing and so much more. There’s even a cafe that sells the biggest cakes I’ve ever seen!
All for just £1 to park there for the full day!
So, the moral of today’s story is that it’s great to get out and explore new places far and wide, but don’t forget to explore what’s right on your own doorstep…..
