If you’re looking for some ideas on some great Halloween movies for kids then you’re definitely in the right place today!
One of our favorite things to do at Halloween is to sit and watch a spooky movie together.
Over the years, the types of films that my two like to watch have gone from kid friendly slightly spooky films to full on (mild) horror films and there’s nothing they like better than watching a horror snuggled under a blanket with the lights out!
Saying that though, they do still enjoy a good old fashioned family Halloween movie every now and again so today, I thought I’d share my top ten favorite family Halloween movies for kids with you.
These movies are great for kids of all ages, so you can watch them no matter how old your kids are!
- Hocus Pocus
- Halloweentown
- It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown
- The Dog Who Saved Halloween
- Double Double Toil and Trouble
- Monster House
- Hotel Transylvania
- Spooky Buddies
- Casper
- The Little Vampire
And if you are planning a movie night then some homemade Halloween bark is just what you need!

Halloween is such a fun holiday for adults and little kids alike. I love all the costume-planning, spooky dessert recipes and pumpkin decorating that come to mind. But on the other end, all the vampires, witches and goblins can be a bit much for kids…especially the younger ones that can scare easily and really just learning the basics, like getting used to the dark! It’s tough to find a family-friendly Halloween flick that won’t completely spook your toddler!
