Today, I’m sharing my homemade Christmas room spray recipe (is it called a recipe if you’re not going to eat it?) and I’m pretty sure you’re going to love it as much as I do!
I love the smell of Christmas – and there are some smells that I always associate with this time of year. Cinnamon, peppermint and oranges are the main ones for me but I know lots of you will have your own thoughts on what smell reminds you of Christmas.
I’ve tried to incorporate my favourite smells into my homemade Christmas room spray blends below so I really hope you like them as much as I do.
Basic Homemade Room Spray
I love a good home room spray so I have a tried and tested base recipe that I just add my blends of essential oils
- 25ml distilled water (plain boiled water works too and is what I usually use if I’m absolutely honest)
- 25 ml witch hazel or vodka– this is the magic ingredient that helps the smell stick around for a while.
- 20-30 drops of your favourite essential oil or essential oil blend
You just need to mix everything together and give it a good shake and you’d good to go. 😂
These are the bottles that I use most of the time (Amazon Aff link if you’re interested) and they’re quite small at 60ml because I like to switch up the blends I use quite often but you can absolutely use a bigger bottle – the main thing is that the water and witch hazel need to be equal quantities.
Here’s a few of my favourite blends that are perfect for this time of year, all measured to go with my 60ml bottle so don’t forget if you up the bottle size then up the drops…
Festive Spice
- 10 drops cinnamon
- 10 drops sweet orange
- 5 drops clove
Festive Refresh
- 8 drops Peppermint
- 8 drops Lavender
- 8 drops Lemon
Festive Peace
- 9 drops frankincense
- 9 drops myrrh
- 6 drops orange
My favourite one is the festive spice blend at the moment and I even just made up a batch of the essential oils part to drop on my little pot of festive pine cones.
As always when using essential oils, make sure you read this post.
