Our main family computer is tucked around a corner in the kitchen on a too small computer desk that we bought because a) I didn’t want the computer taking over the room and b) it’s the same colour as the tiles in the kitchen.
Until recently, we didn’t have a special computer chair for it and we just used a dining chair from our old dining set before we got rid of it and I was happy with this. Everyone else in the family, led by Mr Frugal, didn’t share my feelings though and whinged told me that the chair was uncomfortable!
To me though, a chair is a chair and there always seems to be something more important to spend money on so it was at the bottom of my (very long) must buy at some point list.
Then one day I got an email from Lakeland furniture asking me if I wanted to review something from their website and when I looked they had a massive range of computer chairs so I kind of felt obliged to overlook the gorgeous Eames design chairs that I love and move straight to the office chair selection where I found masses of choice.
I finally settled on one that looks like you could pilot the Starship Enterprise from and ordered it which was a simple process. From then on, I received regular updates and text messages tracking my parcel and on the day of delivery the courier company sent me a text telling me the name of the driver who would be delivering and a half an hour time period in which he would arrive. How efficient is that?
The chair itself was very easy to build and when it was done it looked very impressive sat in our kitchen. You can adjust it to make it just right for your own requirements with the gas pump height adjuster, you can swiver around 360 degrees and can lay back to almost horizontal. It also comes with extra adjustable support for you neck and back and actually, it’s very comfortable to sit on.
Even though it’s still just a chair to me, Mr Frugal tells me it’s brilliant and he loves it. Apparently it makes gaming much more comfortable now and he wishes we’d got one sooner. Please don’t tell him I said this but I tend to agree that we should have got one before because this is so much nicer to sit in and will clearly be much better for his back.
From a design point of view, it looks lovely in the kitchen and does look a lot smarter than the old dining chair that we used to have.
I’m really pleased with the chair and would definitely recommend an office chair if you’re going to be sat at your computer desk for longer lengths of time.
