I’ve found some lovely bargains this week so I thought I’d join in with the brilliant Magpie Monday and share them with you and while I’m here, I’ll share my secret to finding bargains on Ebay.
First, the bargains:
I love this bookcase, ever since we moved in to this house I’ve been looking for a bookcase that would fit in the gap on our landing so the kids could put their shared books, DVD’s and games on. I’ve finally managed to find this lovely bookcase for a bargain £8.00 on Ebay. The cut out hearts on the bottom shelf are repeated on the other shelves and down the side too. The only downside is that it’s pink so I’m going to end up painting it at some point but for now, we’ve started to loaded it with games and DVD’s. The suitcase on the top shelf is a memory box and the pictures on either side are the kid’s collages from when we went to Disneyland, it looks lovely on the landing and it’s cleared some much needed space in the kid’s rooms.
I love this little spice rack that I won off Ebay this week. I’m going to hang it on the wall and use it for our baking things, as they’re all stuffed in a cupboard now and I could do with some extra cupboard space! I like it as it is in cream but would love it in a bluey green, colour to match the rest of my kitchen but I’m not sure if I’ll bother painting it though as I have a few projects lined up now and I just can’t wait to get it on the wall and display all my sprinkles
I bought this little glass jug earlier on this week and it’s now sitting on my windowsill filled with our packed lunch cutlery. I think itt looks lovely aswell as saving loads of space in the cutlery drawer.
Now for the Ebay secret…. I use a website called Local Bargain Finder to find a lot of my bargains, you input your postcode and the category you’d like to search and it brings up the items that have been listed as pick up only or cash on collection in your area. This means that you’re saving on postage as you’d be collecting it but also have more chance of a bargain as pick up only rules out 99.9% of Ebayers.
Good luck with your bargain hunting – Don’t forget to let me know if you find a good one

This is how I operate: I wait until there is about 30 seconds to go (ensure you are logged in). Then I enter the maximum I am willing to pay (which I have thought about before hand) and enter that as a bid. Simple as that.
eBay will automatically put in a bid slightly higher than the highest one, and if you are out bid, it will keep doing this until you hit the maximum you are willing to pay. If you lose, it doesn't matter because you decided before hand the most you would shell out. I will never understand why people bid early? Unless I'm missing something.
Another tip is look for listings that end at strange times, such as middle of the night as less people are around. (and of course means if selling, you want listings to end in evenings when people are at home, preferably at end of the month, or week when people have money in the bank). If you want to go that extra mile, found out when public sector employees get paid, such as the NHS who employ millions of people and end listings in line with that.

Also, bear in mind you can sort items by price. One good thing to do is choose the buy it now option, sort by price, and that way find the cheapest possible version of your item. Good for things like playstations, or phones.
