We all love something for nothing, don’t we? Today I’m going to tell you how you can use your Amazon Alexa to get free things sent directly to your door!
I mentioned this originally way back in September in one of my weekly five frugal things posts as I’d just been promised a sample of the new Baileys drink by Alexa. I was planning to tell you more about it when my freebie came but alas, it never arrived and I lost faith a little bit.
But then I got a notification that there were free cans of Diet Coke (the Mango variety) available so I tried again and lo and behold, four little cans turned up in the post three days later. I still wasn’t convinced so I went on to Amazon and read the reviews to the ‘Send me a Sample’ skill and it seems that the majority of people who had asked for the Baileys did, in fact, receive their little mini bottle of Baileys along with a money off voucher for the full-size product!
These reviews, plus the fact that I got the free Diet Coke cans so quickly, restored my faith so I thought I’d tell you about it now and hope there are still Diet Coke samples left when you read this so you can try it for yourself.
So first things first, you need to register with a company called ‘Send me a Sample’ and then you need to activate the necessary skill on Amazon which you do searching the Amazon skills (online or on the app) for the send me a sample skill which looks like this:
You can then ask Alexa to send you a sample and in theory, she will.
It looks like Send Me a Sample is a new thing so, at the moment, the free samples you can ask for are few and far between but it’s worth getting into the habit of just asking your Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant every couple of days just in case anything comes up. I just say ‘Alexa, send me a sample please’when I’m making a cuppa every couple of days.
Just for clarification, I’m not working with Send me a sample, Amazon or Google to share this with you – I just know you all love a good freebie so I wanted to tell you about it!
