Best Ever Brownies Recipe
You all tasted the postal brownies, right? How about experimenting with them at home with some simple ingredients? Yes, today, I have a surprise list of brownie ingredients that take only minutes to complete.
Basic Ingredients You Need
- 150g Flour: This is the main ingredient for brownies, and it is necessary to prepare the structure. You can use all-purpose flour with a spoon to level the ingredients for the best result. Make sure you use a measuring scoop to avoid over-adding the flour.
- 225g Butter: Brownies need salted butter, which adds flavor. However, you can use unsalted butter. Some use vegetable oil, but butter is the most recommended ingredient in brownie recipes.
- 100g Cocoa Powder: As an alternative to cocoa powder, you can use whole chocolate chunks. This (obviously) gives your brownies the ultimate chocolate richness. However, cocoa powder gives the brownies the real feel of chocolate.
- 4 Eggs: Your brownies need whole eggs in the brownie recipe. Eggs are important, just like flour; they help to bind everything together. Also, make sure to use room-temperature eggs to prepare a fluffy texture.
- 450g Sugar: You can also use granulated sugar; however, feel free to add icing sugar if you want to. Another recommendation is to mix half white sugar and half brown sugar. Brown sugar is the secret ingredient in brownies, enhancing the flavor and texture as well.
- 1 capful Vanilla Extract: This gives your brownies a nice, restaurant-style smell. Vanilla extracts are useful in almost every baking recipe (especially sweet recipes).
Instructions To Bake Brownies
Brownies are very easy to make at home if you follow the instructions carefully. Let’s have a look at the instructions below, which require only two steps and yield a perfect batch of brownies.
Step 1:
First, take a large bowl and melt the butter in it. Then, add the eggs and vanilla extract to the melted butter and whisk them thoroughly. Whisk the mixture for about 2 minutes, or you can use a hand mixer to achieve a crinkly top on the brownies. After that, gently fold in the dry ingredients and any additional mix-ins you desire using a rubber spatula or a wooden spoon.
Step 2:
After preparing the batter, spread it evenly in a 9×9 inch pan lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking. Next, bake the batter for about 30 minutes, or check in between with a toothpick; if it comes out dry or with a few crumbles, your brownie is ready.
Tips To Make Brownies at Home
- Be sure to refer to the baking time and instructions to get the optimal results.
- Make sure you are not over baking the recipe, try to go for slightly under baked brownies with a deliciously fudgy center. This will ensure the perfect texture and flavour for your brownies.
- Glass is known to be a poor conductor of heat, which is why it’s often recommended to use a ceramic or metal pan instead, especially by experienced bakers.
- Ceramic and metal pans are more efficient at conducting heat, leading to better baking results.
- Use whole chocolate chunks instead of chocolate syrup or melted chocolate. This leaves the brownies to come out perfectly cracked and chocolatey.
- Always use measuring cups for ingredients.
- Make sure you are using fresh ingredients every time you are supposed to bake brownies or any other time.
- Feel free to experiment, like adding brown and white sugar together. You can also give your brownies the best restaurant style by adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
Conclusion
After baking, allow the brownies to cool completely. Once cooled, store them in an airtight container. They can be kept at room temperature for 3 to 4 days or refrigerated for up to one week. For longer storage, you can freeze them for up to three months. Just make sure to wrap them well to prevent freezer burn. Always feel free to add mix-ins like chopped nuts, chocolate chunks, leftover holiday candy, white chocolate chips, or caramel baking chips. These additions can make your brownies come out as something extraordinary. Fold them in after adding the dry ingredients. Remember, use these mix-ins in the batter (before baking).
