Instant Pot Spaghetti is not only easy to make in no time at all but it also tastes amazing and no-one will ever believe that it literally takes two minutes to put together!
So, before you read the recipe for this super tasty, super easy recipe, I do have a little bit of a confession.
As much as I’d like to say that I use my homemade tomato sauce for this recipe, I’d be lying because I actually cheat and use a ready-made jar of pasta sauce. I fully support cooking from scratch but lately, I just haven’t had the time to enjoy cooking all that much so I try and take a couple of short cuts wherever I can.
(Who am I kidding, I’ve always loved a good shortcut)

Instant Pot Spaghetti....
Instant Pot Spaghetti is not only easy to make in no time at all but it also tastes amazing and no-one will ever believe that it literally takes two minutes to put together!
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 500g ground beef
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 cups water (1 cup = 230ml)
- 1 large jar ready made tomato-based pasta sauce (I use a 600g jar)
- 250g dry spaghetti, broken in half
- (Optional} Grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh parsley, for serving
Instructions
- Set the Instant Pot to Sauté mode. Once it gets hot, add in the oil, meat, and seasonings. Brown the meat and break up into smaller pieces. This should take about 5 minutes.
- Turn off the sauté mode and add ½ cup of water. With a wooden spoon, scrape the bottom of the Instant Pot to make sure any remaining residuals of the meat is off. Add in the sauce (keep the jar to one side). Stir well.
- Take the broken in half spaghetti and spread them in an even layer on top of the meat mixture. Do not stir.
- Add in the remaining 1.5 cups of water. (Before you add it, pour some of the water in the pasta sauce jar, close the lid, and shake well. This way you get every bit of sauce!) Do not stir.
- Close the Instant Pot by twisting the lid on and close the seal. Cook on High Pressure for 8 minutes. It should take about 10 minutes to build pressure.
- Once it's done cooking, quick release the Instant Pot by opening the valve (make sure to use a hot pad or towel to protect yourself from the hot steam).
- Stir everything well and serve!
- You can top with fresh parsley, grated parmesan cheese, or both!
- Enjoy!
