When I started writing this blog my intention was to use it as a way of recording our family memories and as I started writing it at a time when we needed to save money so I could work less hours I thought the frugal aspect would tie in quite nicely hence ‘The Diary of a Frugal Family’ was born.
We’ve shared some of our favourite memories, activities and recipes alongside lots of money saving tips which I hope you’ve found helpful and today, I want to try something new. Something that will hopefully become a regular feature on here in addition to all the usual stuff.
(See how I highlighted that bit there, that’s because it will only even be an extra post and it won’t replace the family and money saving things that I would usually write about. ;-))
I want to start sharing more of the deals that are out there that could save you money by sharing a #DealofTheDay post with you whenever I come across a great deal. I might notice the deal when I’m out and about, it might be one that I find online or that I’m emailed about or it might even be one that any of you lovely readers decide to share with me. Hopefully, there’ll be enough deals for a daily post but who knows?
Some of the deals might not be for you but hopefully I can share a good mix of things so there’ll be something for everyone.
There’s a few things I’d like to say about deal of the day though….
- A deal is only a deal to you if it’s something you were planning to buy it anyway so don’t be tempted to buy something just because it’s a deal.
- I might find a deal on a big ticket item, an XBox one for example, and share it with you on here. I understand completely that buying something like this isn’t frugal but everyone’s idea of frugal is different. So, if I share a deal on a larger item that you may not think is frugal, remember that it could well be to someone else who’s planning to buy one anyway.
- If you know of a better deal then please feel free to share it with us.
Happy Saving. 😉
