I’m not feeling as festive as I want to be this year – I’m trying and trying but it’s not happening.
Don’t get me wrong, I am excited and I am looking forward to Christmas but somethings’s missing and I just can’t seem to get myself into the Christmas spirit.
I usually start feeling it as soon as the first door on the advent calendar is open but in the last few weeks, I’ve been ill, Mr Frugal’s had to have a chest Xray and an Ultrasound to check and see if he has kidney stones (they don’t think he has), Master Frugal has had a week off school and to top it off my laptop died. And as if that wasn’t enough, we have an MRI scan for Mr Frugal to see why he’s been getting so many vertigo attacks booked in for Sunday 23rd December ( I didn’t even know they did Sundays) which is playing on our minds a little bit I think.
I’ve been trying to do Christmassy things though – we’ve been to a reindeer parade….
We’ve been to a Christmas fayre and eaten giant candy floss (and I mean GIANT)….
We’ve decorated our tree and made our own chocolate hanging decorations….
We’ve even been ice skating….
So, I have no idea why I’m not feeling as festive as usual but I plan to change that this weekend! As long as Master Frugal’s feeling up to it at the weekend, I’m going to make sure we do lots of Christmas crafts and cooking at home, we’re going to put on our Christmas jumpers and hunt out a Santa whose knee we can sit on and have a Christmas movie pyjama afternoon. There may even be carol singing!
Any other ideas?
