One of the first recipes that I ever shared on here (way back in 2009) was a recipe for Jammy Buns which are actually called Thumbprint Cookies but I renamed them for some reason. I have no idea what 2009 me was thinking but I’m 99% sure that despite the number of people who still end up on that page, no-one would ever look at this picture and think about making them….
Honestly, the photo alone makes me die a little bit inside, never mind the rest of the post so I thought 2021 me would have a go at recreating my ‘jammy buns’ and you’ll be relieved to know that I’ve learned a lot since the original attempt and today’s cookies deserve not only deserve a post of their own but also to be called thumbprint cookies rather than jammy buns. 😂
My two have come full circle now and want to get back in the kitchen with me a bit more after a few years of being too cool to cook anything other than their compulsory one night a week family tea. They both seem to have rediscovered the love of baking just for fun that they used to have when they were little and I couldn’t be happier!
In the last week, between them they’ve made bread, pizza base, all sorts of cakes and cookies and pancakes as well as these biscuits. I don’t want to get your hopes up too much but Master Frugal had an idea about tweaking this recipe to make a chocolate Nutella version!
These Jammy Thumbprint cookies are the perfect snack to go with your mid-morning cuppa!Jammy Thumbprint Cookies Recipe....
