Tomorrow is the day we take Miss Frugal to the hospital to see the brain surgeon. We’ve waited for months for the appointment after being told that the brain scan had ruled out most things but there was a possibility that she had a very small slow growing tumour that would not have shown on the scan due to it’s size.
The fact we’ve had such a long wait isn’t necessarily a good sign as some people have said to me because the tumour (if there is one) was so small at the time of the scan that they would need to leave it for a period for it to become detectable if you see what I mean.
She has a few tests first thing in the morning before her appointment with the surgeon, one of which will be a hearing test as slight loss of hearing is another symptom of this specific tumour and she’s just told me that she thinks the hearing test will be a waste of time as she can ‘obviously hear properly’, unless I’m telling her to tidy her room that is!
On the plus side, I think the dizzy spells have improved and she seems to get less headaches that she did a few months ago so I’m just hoping that the surgeon is going to tell us that he’s happy that it’s not any sort of tumour and that everything’s OK. Maybe then I can stop worrying and possibly have a full nights sleep for the first time since the word tumour was mentioned.
So at 9.30 in the morning cross your fingers for us and wish us luck x x
