If you’ve been reading my posts recently then you’ll probably know that Miss Frugal and I booked a cheeky little holiday away in the sun. We left the menfolk here for a couple of reasons but mainly because neither of them really fancied the heat in Cyprus and also because Master Frugal has SATs coming up so he didn’t want to miss school. They’re going to do a quick break later in the year together and have their eye on Barcelona so they can watch a match at the Nou Camp although we quite fancy tagging along if they’ll let us. 😉
We booked a four night stay at an all inclusive hotel in Protaras in Cyprus and for what we paid, I didn’t have particularly high expectations! I’ll go into more detail about the hotel another time but for now, I’ll just say that we loved everything about the hotel and would definitely go back again – it exceeded my expectations in every way!
I could tell you all about our holiday in detail but I’m guessing that wouldn’t be too interesting for anyone other than me and Miss Frugal so I’m going to share some photos with you instead. They’re not all my favourite photos from the holiday as I’ve promised Miss Frugal at the start of the holiday that it was just me and her and any photos would just be for us unless she was OK with me sharing them so these are just the ones that I’m allowed to show you!
We made no plans at all and literally took each hour as it came which made for a very relaxing holiday but what really surprised me was that we didn’t argue at all and there wasn’t even a hint of a mood from either of us (which is a small miracle considering one of us is a thirteen year old hormonal teenager)!
I feel like we’ve definitely got to know each other better and as much as I know that I’m the parent and it’s my job to parent and make decisions that she’s not always going to like, I feel like this last week has cemented our friendship even more than before and I think she feels the same way. It’s a hard feeling to put into words but we’ve both benefitted from our little holiday in so many ways.
We’ll definitely be doing it again soon!
