If all goes well, as you read this I will have just taken off on our family Summer holiday so I thought I’d do a kind of ‘what’s in my hand luggage’ kind of a post today.
First up, my bag is genuinely my husband’s worst nightmare as it doesn’t have a secure fastening and he’s convinced someone is going to help themselves to everything that’s in there which is why I’m not allowed custody of the tickets, passport or money. I’m only allowed my Macbook as it’s got things on top of it so it’s almost impossible to steal that without a good rummage around in there. Also, it’s hidden at the bottom of the bag with a magazine strategically placed on top of it haha.
It’s a lovely bag though – I wanted it for ages but kept my eye on all my favourite second hand selling sites for designer handbags for months until I found one for a reasonable price. Cream may not have been the best colour to go for but I’ve sprayed it with that Crep spray stuff and I’m always careful with it.
So, inside the thief’s paradise bag, I have my MacBook (fully charged with the charger in my suitcase) and a lovely magazine that I bought a while ago but haven’t had the chance to read it yet.
I have a sandwich bag for my liquids and in here I have my perfume, some hand cream, lip gloss and some face wipes which I don’t know if they go in here but I might as well just in case.
Next up there’s my little travel pouch which I like to take out of my bag when we get on the plane and put in the seat in front of me to save me having to get up and down throughout the flight. This has some headphones in (if I can find them), some cash in case I want a drink and my Kindle. I’ll also pop my hand cream and lip balm in there too.
There’s a notepad and pen in there and obviously my phone. I have the most amazing power bank that I bought for when Miss Frugal went skiing on the recommendation of someone (I can’t for the life of me remember who though) because they said it could charge their iphone about six times before it runs out of juice and I can easily believe it.
And the last bits are my sunglasses, some paracetamols and a hairbrush.
So that’s my hand luggage – nothing exciting. 😉
PS I should say that I would NEVER recommend sharing anywhere online or on social media that you’re going on holiday and that your house is going to be empty but I’m good with it as we have people stay in our house when we’re away to take care of the dogs and to be honest, they’re probably at home more than we would be during the day with school and work.
