I do love blogging, I really do. But sometimes I get caught up in it all and forget the one reason why I started blogging. You see, I didn’t start blogging for all you lovely readers (although you’re an amazing added bonus) and I didn’t start blogging to make money or to be the best.
I started blogging to keep a diary of sorts about the things we get up to as a family because it’s more important to me than I can explain in a sentence that we have a record of our happy memories. But lately, we’ve made memories that I haven’t shared on here because I didn’t think the things we’ve done would be interesting to anyone but us and that’s not why I started blogging.
It’s been on my mind for a few weeks and then last week, Tanya decided to start a new weekly linky called ‘My Week’ which seems like the solution to my problem. It’s kind of a round up post of what you’ve been up to in the last week and what your plans are for the next week and it seems like a great middle ground – I get to bore you share all my little things with you in one weekly post which I suspect is going to be my favourite post of the week to write. 😉
So here’s the first one of what I hope will be many….
This morning, Miss Frugal and I have done the Race for Life and actually managed to not come last….
We did it and although I’m aching a little bit right now, I’m proud of us! Thank you once again to our sponsors Brioche Pasquier for the encouragement to sign up for this and for their sponsorship.
Cancer. We really are coming to get you!
We also had Master Frugal’s school family fun day which is always one of my favourite days of the year – the whole school put on an outdoor performance on the morning and then there are free rides and activities all over the school grounds for the rest of the day. Parents are invited to bring picnics and we all sit out on the field with blankets (posh parents have gazebos ;-)) and watch the kids run between the climbing wall and the teacups and from the giant bouncy slide to the caves. I almost cried when Master Frugal got up in front of the whole school and read out a poem with no nerves or mistakes at all and then I did have a tear when the little ones got up and sang so beautifully.
Pretty much everything else this week has been related to either eating, sleeping or working as I’ve been working extra all week to help out. I’m going to really try and focus on taking it easy this coming week as I really am exhausted at the minute.
I’m off now for a hot bath and a cuppa. 😉
