Oh Dear!
As far as Slimming World goes, ‘oh dear’ pretty much sums up my week as I was determined to enjoy my holiday in New York as much as possible so I rather generously gave myself a week off Slimming World.
I’ve had an amazing week away with the kids though and although I know I could have made the effort and eaten much better than I actually did, I don’t feel disappointed with myself in any way because I made a conscious decision to not stick to plan and to work extra hard when I got back to lose whatever I put on.
When I stepped on the scales this morning, I was genuinely expecting a pretty big gain – after all, I’ve eaten everything from Frozen Hot Chocolates at Serendipity to burger and cheese fries at Shake Shack.
I didn’t dare look when I stepped on and waited for the lady to tell me how much I’d put on and when she told me, I was actually over the moon because it could have been so much worse – in fact, thinking about what I ate I’m really not sure why it wasn’t worse.
I can lose 2lbs this week no problem and be right back in the position I was in before I went away which is fantastic!
I’m sorry it’s not really a great update this week as far as weight loss is concerned but I promise that next week will be much better and I’ll get back to sharing recipes and tips that have worked for me.
Exercise
I may not have eaten very well this last week but I’m 99% certain that I walked the equivalent of Earth to the moon and back at least twice during this last week. At one point, my feet hurt so much that I didn’t want to stop in case I couldn’t get started again. 😉
Non-Scale wins
Well, I still went to get weighed this morning even though I knew I would have put on! That’s an achievement in itself because in the past I would have used that as an excuse to give up.
Challenges for next week
None! As things stand this week should be an easy one as far as sticking to plan is concerned as I have a Monday to Friday working week with no nights out or special occasions.
