I bet you didn’t know that today is National Peanut Butter Cookie Day (well it is in the US anyway). In honour of this very special, celebrated day I thought that not only would I share a super duper easy recipe for Peanut Butter Cookies, I’ll also share with you some very interesting facts about Peanuts and peanut butter cookies.
- American eat about 700 million pounds of peanut butter each year.
- People who have a phobia of peanut butter sticking to the roof of their mouth have ‘arachibutyrophobia’.
- It takes about 550 peanuts to make a 12 ounce jar of creamy peanut butter.
Ok, so I lied about the interesting facts, but I’m sure you’ll get over it 😉
Now on to the main event, heres my recipe for super duper easy peanut butter cookies (as made here):
All you need is 1 cup peanut butter (smooth or crunchy), 1 cup sugar and 1 egg.
Mix them together and make blobs of the mixture on a baking tray. Cook in an oven heated to 180c for 7 – 10 minutes and hey presto, super duper, easy peasy peanut butter cookies. When you get them out they will feel a bit squidgy but that’s fine – they’ll soon harden up a bit.
They taste lovely and it really would be rude not to make peanut butter cookies on peanut butter cookie day 😉
The last time we made these was on March 1st this year which was National Peanut Butter Lovers Day – I haven’t a clue why I keep getting these e mails – I must be on some sort of geeky peanut butter fan’s mailing list!!!
Enjoy x
